Mt. Rainier

As mentioned yesterday I’m on a family vacation in Washington State for a few days before we move on to our next location. A few days ago we did an all day tour to Mt. Rainier and it did not disappoint. We booked the tour through Viator which we have used before on other trips and our tour guide/driver was really great. We left before 8am and drove the 2 hours to Mt. Rainier National Park with one stop for the bathroom and to grab food for our lunch on the mountain.

We made lots of stops during the day in the national park for photo opportunities of the mountain, lakes, waterfalls, valleys, etc. We had about an hour and a half at the Visitor’s Center area of the mountain to eat lunch, relax, and hike a bit on our own. There was still a bit of snow on the mountain. According to our tour guide the snow was slow to melt this year and usually the meadows are filled with flowers by this time. The few flowers that are starting to bloom now are usually the ones out in May so everything is behind. I wish I did get to see the infamous colorful wildflowers on the mountain, but it’s okay – these things can’t be controlled!

After we got back from the tour, we did a quick change at the hotel and then headed to dinner at Din Tai Fung, which was a few minutes walk away.

Enjoy my photo dump!
