Second Chance Romance Picks Part 2

So I’ve come to realize in recent months that I love the second chance romance trope. I know some people hate it because they feel like if it didn’t work the first time why would it work now? But, the ones I’ve loved are the ones where some sort of misunderstanding happened that prevented the couple from being together – while I don’t love the miscommunication trope I think it’s okay when it’s for a second chance romance – or it’s a case of right person wrong time. I don’t think I’d like a second chance romance if one of them did something just horrible or purposefully abusive towards the other person. With that being said, I did a second chance romance post at the end of last year and I thought it was time for another one!

  • Untying the Knot – Ryot doesn’t realize that Myla has been unhappy in their marriage for a little while now and when she blindsides him with divorce papers he makes a plan to win her back.
  • Hail Mary – Leo doesn’t realize that Mary is someone he knew when he was younger – all he knows is that she lives across the street from him in their college town and she does not like him.
  • Love & Other Words – Macy and Elliot were friends for years since the time they were 13. Then, something happens and they don’t see or speak to each other for 11 years until they run into each other.
  • Final Offer – Cal and Lana have known each other since they were kids but when Cal breaks Lana’s heart 6 years ago, he promises to never return to the lake house. Then, his grandfather leaves him instructions in his will that says he has to go live at the lake house for one last summer. What he doesn’t realize until he gets there is that Lana lives there too.
  • Something Wilder – Leo and Lily met and fell in love on her family’s ranch when she was 19 and he was a college student working on the ranch for a summer job. Then, an emergency called him home to NYC and he promised to come back, but he never did. Now 10 years later he and his friends are on a trip in the red rocks and Lily’s company is the adventure guide company leading them.
  • Happy Place – Harriet and Wyn and their best friends from college have vacationed together every year at a cottage in Maine. It’s time for their annual trip, but what their friends don’t know is that they have broken off their engagement and broken up. Not wanting to ruin the trip, the two pretend to still be together for the week.
