Book Review: The Brothers Hawthorne

It’s no secret that I love The Inheritance Game series by Jennifer Lynn Barnes so when I heard she was coming out with The Brothers Hawthorne I pre-ordered it so fast. It lived up to my expectations. I loved it and read it in less than 3 days!

This novel picks up shortly after the last book in The Inheritance Games trilogy, The Final Gambit, and focuses on Jameson and Grayson – the two middle Hawthorne brothers. Jameson and Avery have been traveling the world while Avery thinks of more ways to distribute/give away some of the billions of her inheritance. Grayson has been helping with the foundation. But puzzles and mysteries can’t stay away (and vice versa) from the Hawthornes for long.

Jameson meets his mysterious father who wants him to find his way into an ultra exclusive underground gambling club and win back something he lost. Grayson learns he has twin half-sisters from his father who have gotten into some trouble. The brothers have to work through their own puzzles and mysteries with some help from Avery and their brothers, Nash and Xander.

I don’t want to spoil anything about what Jameson and Grayson go through, but I was hooked on both of their storylines! I love the Hawthornes and Avery so much. I just want them to have happy endings!

This book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger per se, but there is a bit of a bombshell reveal at the ending and the epilogue is a bit ominous. I’m assuming both will be addressed in the next book that Jennifer Lynn Barnes has announced, The Grandest Game, that comes out next year!

Overall, I loved this book so much and was so happy to be back in this world!
