Book Review: The Devil You Know
I saw a few people talk about The Devil You Know by Veronica Eden a while back and then a few months ago I saw that the Kindle version was on sale so I got it since it was already on my tbr. I just read it this week and loved it!

This is a brother’s best friend romance and follows Tatum and Cooper. Tatum and Cooper have been neighbors and friends since they were little kids and Cooper is best friend’s with Tatum’s brother. Cooper and Jackson (Tate’s brother) are a year older and going to be sophomores in college. Tatum is going to be a freshman at the same college and has spent her high school career and life being highly organized and focused on her studies. But, there’s one thing she feels behind on – her social and sexual life. Determined to gain some experience before college begins, she asks Cooper to help her since he’s much more experienced with his player ways. She’s always had a crush on him, but this is purely for experience she tells herself. Cooper has also always had a thing for Tatum, but has never acted on it because he’s best friends with her brother. He wants to agree to help her, but he’s nervous about whether it’s a good idea or not. But, he spent his first year of college partying and surfing a little too much and is now on academic probation. The two come up with a deal – he’ll tutor her in all social/party and sex things and she’ll tutor him for his classes. When people start to wonder why they are spending so much time together, they have to pretend to be dating too. Can the two help each other out without letting the other know their true feelings? What happens when their fake dating doesn’t feel fake anymore?
I loved the book and was hooked on Tatum and Cooper. The friends to lovers/brother’s best friend tropes were done really well here and I loved how well they already knew each other and how that just grew as they got closer to one another. The spice was so good too!
There is a novella based on Jackson and Tatum’s best friend, Simone, that I need to read soon!
Read this if you want a spicy friends to lovers, brother’s best friend, fake dating story!
