Book Review: The Player You Need

A few months ago I read The Devil You Know by Veronica Eden and really enjoyed it so I made a note to read her novella The Player You Need. I especially wanted to read it because the novella follows Simone, Tatum’s friend, and Jackson, Tatum’s brother and Cooper’s best friend.

As mentioned above, this novella follows Simone and Jackson. The two have known each other since they were little and always hung out since Simone is Tatum’s best friend. They playfully tease each other, but both have secretly had crushes on each other for a long time. Now Simone needs a date/fake boyfriend for her cousin’s wedding since she rsvp’d with a plus 1 and the only person available who she can trust to play along is Jackson. Will the two finally get together through their fake dating scheme?

This was a fun and quick read. I liked being reunited with these characters and seeing Simone and Jackson finally get together after all their flirting!
