My New Home Library

I loved my book setup at my old place, but knew I needed more book storage because I had been piling up books on my shelves in interesting ways – basically wherever I could make them fit. So when I bought my new place, before it had even been built and I had only toured the model home, I knew that I wanted the front room to be my new library and I knew I could easily fit another bookshelf. This time I wanted it to be the standard bookcase with shelves that went straight across. I love my geometric ones, but thought something different would look nice in the middle, plus it would probably hold more books.

I also envisioned putting two arm chairs and a little table in front of the bookshelves. Add in a small area rug and a new mirror on the opposite wall plus use the standing lamp from my old guest room, the globe string lights I had on the shelves at my old place, and the shoe bench that was in my old foyer and voila!

Who knows if I will add anything else in the space, possibly decor wise? But for now, this is my home library!

I’m planning to get a 2nd Christmas tree this year and have one in my family room and one in the library window and I can’t wait to see this space decorated for the holidays later in the year!
