How to Rejuvenate Your Skin

There’s nothing quite like that fresh, glowing feeling when your skin is looking its best. When it’s smooth, vibrant and practically beaming with confidence from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to bed. Whether you’ve been dealing with dryness, dullness, or a few fine lines that weren’t there last year, there are plenty of ways that you could be breathing life back into your skin.

One of the most popular places to jump start this transformation is at a Med spa. With advanced treatments and a touch of luxury, it’s like giving your skin a first class ticket to fabulous. But don’t panic, you don’t have to go full glam to see real results. Skin rejuvenation is all about smaller and more consistent changes that add up over time. Let’s take a look into some simple and indulgent ways that you can bring your skin back to life.

  1. Hydrate. First things first, drink more water. It sounds like a boring piece of advice, but your skin is an organ and it loves to be hydrated. Without enough water, your skin can look flaky, tight and tired. You need to aim for at least 8 glasses a day. You can always infuse your water with lemon, cucumber or mint for a spa-like twist at home.
  2. Exfoliate. This is something you need to do, but you don’t want to overdo it. Exfoliation involves removing dead skin cells that can leave your complexion looking dull. A gentle exfoliator used once or twice a week can make a big difference to the way that your skin feels. Just don’t go overboard because too much scrubbing can lead to redness and irritation. This is not the glow up you’re going for.
  3. Learn about serums. This is your skin’s secret weapon. Packed with high concentrations of active ingredients, they can target specific concerns like fine lines, dryness or dark spots. Vitamin C serums, for example, can brighten your complexion and protect against environmental damage. Hyaluronic acid is a dream for thirsty skin, so find one that suits your needs and give it time.
  4. Get some sleep. If your skin is looking a little bit blah, take a good honest look at your sleep schedule. Getting a full night’s rest allows your skin to repair and regenerate. You need a nighttime routine that you can look forward to, like dimming the lights, using a face mask, and turning off screens. Beauty sleep is very real and you get to do that.
  5. Protect as much as you can. You can’t talk about skin rejuvenation without mentioning sunscreen. Daily Sun protection is non-negotiable. One of the biggest culprits behind premature aging is UV rays. Even on cloudy days your skin needs a layer of defence. A broad spectrum SPF at 30 or higher is absolutely necessary.
  6. Treat yourself. Lastly, whether it’s a facial, a massage, or a visit to your local Med spa for something more advanced, treat yourself and your skin to something amazing.
