Lately I’ve been loving sheet masks and I’m going to talk about 2 new ones I’ve used in an upcoming post, but today I’m talking about a rubber mask. The Dr. Jart+ Clear Skin Lover Rubber Mask to be exact. The idea of a rubber mask intrigued me and this one claims to clear your skin so I wanted to give it a try.
The product is described as: “This two-step system includes a highly concentrated ampoule serum and a rubber mask that was developed to fight breakouts and soothe stressed skin. The clearing rubber mask wraps the skin to prevent active ingredients from evaporating, allowing for deeper penetration to improve the appearance of pores while diminishing shine. The rubber mask derived from algae reacts with calcuim to cool and calm the skin as the lipophilic and hydrophilic actives cling to moisture in the skin to maximize benefits. Pore Clear Complex purifies the pores providing a refreshing feeling. A multi-seaweed complex featuring gelidium cartilagineum extract and laminaria japonica extract leaves skin smooth and healthy looking.”
So the difference between this rubber mask and a regular sheet mask besides the material of the mask is that the serum is in a separate package. You apply the serum on your face and then wear the mask which seals in the serum and helps it do its work on your skin before you remove it.
The serum is kind of paste like but a bit thinner. Not runny at all.
When I first bought this mask I thought it was one piece, but it’s actually two which I guess helps users to better customize it to their face. The feel of the mask is smooth and gelatin like so it’s soft and quite comfortable on the skin.
The mask definitely feel cool to wear both in temperature and style. It felt a little less messy than a sheet mask because there was no dripping or fear of dripping.
I’ve only used this mask once so I don’t know if it really clears up your skin, but I do know that prior to putting this mask on I felt a pimple coming up on my nose. My nose felt a little tender and it was red. However, after wearing this mask for 20 minutes it felt less sore, looked less red, and a pimple did not come up! So I do think it does help.
I definitely want to try some more Dr. Jart+ masks and other products from the brand in general. Do you have any suggestions?
As mentioned above, I will have a post about two other sheet masks I’ve recently tried coming up next week on here. Also, I was planning on writing about last night’s Dirty Dancing made-for-tv remake but I didn’t get home til late so I only watched the first half before I needed to sleep. I’m planning to finish it tonight and write about it tomorrow so be on the lookout for that!
