Book Review: Foxglove
Last week I read the sequel to Belladonna, Foxglove, and I think I liked it more than the first one! Rare for 2nd books in series, I know.

The novel picks up right where Belladonna left off. Signa’s cousin Blythe’s health is much better now that she’s no longer being poisoned. While she isn’t 100% yet in strength, she’s doing much better and out in society again. And at the big party the Hawthornes were throwing to celebrate their business partnership with the Wakefields, Lord Wakefield – Everett’s father – dies of poisoning. Elijah Hawthorne, Blythe’s father and Signa’s uncle, is accused of killing him and taken to prison. He may be suspected because he’s the one who handed Lord Wakefield his champagne flute for their toast, but Fate also whispered in people’s ears that Elijah was responsible. Why would Fate, Death’s brother, do that? Because he’s angry that Signa has helped people (like Blythe) escape their fate.
But when Fate meets Signa, something calls to him and feels familiar. He believes she is the reincarnation of his love, Life, that his brother cruelly took away from him hundreds (thousands?) of years ago. Signa doesn’t feel the same connection to Fate and is, in fact, in love with Death. Fate says he will stop at nothing to convince Signa she is Life and that they belong together. Meanwhile, Signa and Blythe do everything they can to help free Elijah.
I loved this book and really liked seeing Signa come more into her own and the further development of her and Death’s love for one another. Blythe was a really fun especially now that she can be a more active character. I’m looking forward to reading the next book to see what’s next for her and Fate since they supposedly can’t stand one another!
