Shopping, Holiday Lights, & Pizza
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a fun and safe New Year’s Eve!
But, back to my trip recap! On my 2nd full day of visiting family in Georgia we had a busy day going all over. We started out getting dim sum at East Pearl and we wanted to get there right when they opened so we wouldn’t have to wait in line for a table. Then, we did some shopping at some of the different Asian food stores and little shops in the area. But, we also did stop at Costco and picked up the Chinese New Year pillows they have! I got the mahjong tile that says “prosperity”. And we stopped for yummy drinks at Kafeinn. I got the purple drink – I forget what it was called but it was ube and coconut!
After a short break back at my cousins’ house to relax a bit, we headed in to Atlanta to stop by All the Tropes Bookstore, a indie romance bookstore! And when I chatted with them and said I was from NJ, they asked if I knew Kiss & Tale and I said I visited that shop over the summer! The store was so cute and I loved the vibe inside with the dark walls and chandeliers. I got some pens, tabs, and a romance trope coloring book!
Then, we headed at the Atlanta Botanical Garden for the holiday light show. They actually took me to this light show years ago – I think we said it was around 12 years ago! I only remembered the canopy walk (the lights hanging down in strings from the trees) and the large bulbs light show synchronized to music. It was perfect weather and really pretty.
Lastly, we went for dinner at Mister O1 Pizza, a Michelin star pizza place. We all ordered pies so we had 7 different 13 inch pies at the table (the margherita pizza got cut off from the photo if you are counting in the picture down below). As my friend said when I sent a picture, it was a “comical amount of pizza”, but it was all so delicious! And the pizzas have such a thin crust that it’s easy to eat a lot and not feel too full. All in all, it was a great day out and about with family.
