Winter Day in NYC

My cousin was visiting last week and we spent a very cold, but fun, day in New York City. It may have been cold the day we went, but at least we went before the big storm coming this weekend! Also, my new superpuff coat from Aritzia that I picked up during Black Friday shopping kept me very warm.

To do a quick recap – we took the train into the city and then headed to FAO Schwarz to see what Jellycats they had. I got a little stack of pancakes bag charm and a little turtle for my niece. Then, we headed to Din Tai Fung, where I’ve had a reservation for a month. The food was delicious and although it seemed like we ordered way too much, it was actually the perfect amount. I will share photos of everything we ate in a few days because I’m going to do a separate blog post just about lunch there!

After lunch, we went to MoMa – Museum of Museum Art – and enjoyed exploring the different floors and wings. The highlights, for me, of the museum was seeing Van Gogh, specifically “Starry Night”, and Monet paintings. We spent about 2 hours there before heading to a Blank Stree Coffee location that was nearby. We ended our day in the city by walking through a little bit of Central Park – ending by the rink to watch people engage in the wintery sport. Then, we headed home!

It was a fun day and we did everything we set out to do that day with no changes and and we didn’t feel pressed for time even though or feel like we had to rush around, which was nice.

As mentioned above, I will have another post in a few days with details on Din Tai Fung for lunch. I have been there before, but it’ll be a nice update post. Plus I will be posting a reel of my cousin and me going for dumplings at Din Tai Fung and we did the shoulder shrug trend. Stay tuned for that coming soon!
