Kent Island Day 2

On our one full day in Kent Island, my friend and I wanted to make the most of our time since the weather was supposed to be iffy later in the day. It did end up thunderstorm-ing multiple times later in the day but we got lucky with timing each time!

We got an early start and went to Dessert First Dockside Coffee & Dessert Bar for coffee and breakfast. I got a Nutty Buddy Cold Brew and a breakfast sandwich which were both yummy. Then, we headed to Terrapin Nature Park and walked part of the Cross Island Trail. After walking part of the trail that goes through wooded areas and some marshes, we turned off into one of the openings to the shore. We set out the beach blanket I brought and relaxed and read for a while. It was so peaceful there on that narrow stretch of shore and only a few people walked by during our time there.

Then, we headed over to Historic Stevensville, which was a lot smaller than we thought it would be. We went into a couple shops and decided to not stay there for lunch but to head back over by the water to Fisherman’s Crab Deck for food. I got the tuna ceviche which was okay and my friend got the fried scallops which were very tasty, which I now cause she let me steal one of them! We were deciding whether we wanted to head back to Terrapin Nature Park or check out another place and ultimately we decided to go check out Matapeake Beach just to see something different. This beach was quiet too, but it didn’t have the same breeze as at the nature park and was very buggy so we definitely preferred the Nature Park for relaxing. We didn’t stay long before we heard thunder so we headed out. We got to Sugar Doodles for ice cream just as it started to drizzle and as we ate our ice cream it started pouring like crazy. We waited it out inside the shop until it slowed down a bit so we could run to the car. Then, we went back to the hotel to wait out the storm and relax a bit, read, rest up etc. and it started raining like crazy again. We waited until the storm passed to head back out and walked to Bridges for dinner. Since it was really wet outside we had to sit inside for dinner, but the crab cakes I had were delicious so that made up for not having a nice water view. After dinner we walked over to The Jetty to use the gift card we won the night before! We got drinks and played Bingo!

After Bingo we headed back to the hotel right when it started to rain again and it started pouring and thundering like crazy once we were back in our room so we really lucked out with timing all day. We watched the romcom Set It Up before bed to end the day!
