Repurposed: Glass Containers
My dad was recently cleaning out part of the basement and asked my brother and me what kid games and things we wanted to keep and what he could toss. There was an arts and crafts box with little glass containers and “stained glass” paint to paint them. I was going to give the kit to my friend’s kids, but the paint was understandably all dried up so I decided to take the little glass jars home with me to use as little glass vases. Not a bad way to repurpose a childhood arts and crafts kit in my opinion! I’ve linked to some cute bud vases below! *This post…

Entertaining and Celebrating
You may have noticed that around the various holidays I like to post tablescape and decor inspo. I love looking at decor and design! So when I was sent this book,Β Entertaining and Celebrating with food and entertaining ideas for the seasons I had a great time flipping through the book. The book has beautiful photos for decor inspiration for each season. It has food ideas in such detail. I mean, they break down a menu for you from the amuse bouche, appetizer, entree, dessert, and even what kind of service style you should/could use! This is definitely my kind of (non-reading) book! *This book was sent to me complimentary, but…

Read Between The Lines To Find Out Why Your Reading Room Decor Isn’t Working For You
The majority of us now spend our days working office jobs and staring at computer screens. It should come as no surprise, then, that we look for screen-free alternatives once we get home of an evening. Many households are now finding that their televisions remain off for days on end as they seek better ways to spend their free time. Some of us are even repurposing areas in our houses to meet that need. Many people, for example, now dedicate their garages and basements to yoga. And, as weβre going to be considering here, some people are even turning their home offices over to mini libraries. In many ways, reading…

#fbf Jeweled Tree
It’s Friday! I know it was a shorter work week with the day off on Monday for Martin Luther King Day, but I have been so busy and doing things nonstop all while feeling like I could fall asleep at any moment. I won’t be able to sleep in this weekend much because it’s a busy weekend, but at least I can get in a few more hours of sleep than I have been getting on weeknights. To celebrate it being Friday I’m doing another flashback Friday, #fbf, post. It’s been a little over two years since I was last in Georgia to visit friends and family. On my last…

Red, Green, & Gold Christmas Tree
This year with my new townhouse I got a new Christmas tree from Costco. A pre-lit one, which is new to me. I have to say it was so much easier to not have to string the lights! The tree I got is 7 ft. tall and the lights can be white, colored, or alternate – which is the setting I normally have it on since I love both white and colored lights. The small lights are classic and clean, but part of me still misses those large old school bulbs! For my tree this year, I inadvertently got an assortment of red, green, and gold ornaments. When I went…

Spruce Up Your Guest Bedrooms For Christmas
For many, the panicked shopping race before Christmas has already started. With presents to buy, decorations to prepare and an exciting menu to set, there is a lot to do. Itβs not uncommon as well to invest in a last minute Christmas outfit β or a few, depending on how many parties youβre going to attend to. In short, with a to-do list packed with shopping items, you might come behind your hosting schedule. Indeed, if youβve invited relatives or friends to stay over, you need to get the guest bedroom ready for the occasion. While Christmas colors are a must-have in most households, itβs fair to say that they…

Antique Blue Buffet Table
Since moving in to my townhouse I knew I wanted to get a buffet table or sideboard along the short wall of my dining area. I thought it would help complete the room and it would be great for storage since storage is definitely limited here. I browsed most of the summer for a buffet table I liked that also wouldn’t break the bank. When Wayfair was having a Labor Day sale I narrowed it down to two different tables. I compared styles, size, reviews etc. Ultimately, I chose the Kenya BuffetΒ because it got good reviews and was the right size. The other one I was looking at was really…

Twilight Blue Writing Desk
I’m back with another home decor/furniture post. A desk wasn’t at the top of my list for furniture to get, but after the essentials that I needed to buy new (dining table, bedroom furniture, coffee table, kitchen cart, entry way table etc.) a desk was next on the list. A desk wasn’t something I needed urgently as I mostly work from my laptop on the couch and if I need to really sit I can sit at the dining table. I knew I needed one eventually so that I could have somewhere to put my cable modem, router, and a printer (when I buy one). So when I got back…

Grafton Bed
As many of you know, I recently bought a townhouse with my brother and have been moving in, furnishing it, etc. While there were a few things we brought over that we already owned, a majority of the items in the house are brand new. My bedroom furniture is all new. While I don’t think talking about my new dresser and skinny chest of drawers is very interesting, I do plan to talk in a future post about my closet organization and new vanity. But the piece of furniture I’m talking about today is my new bed which I’m in love with! My bedroom furniture (minus the vanity which is…
