July 2019 Favorites
Well, this summer is truly flying by and I’m not too happy about it. Why do summers always fly by? Especially as a teacher? There was so much I wanted to do this summer – a lot more writing than I’ve done (which is close to nothing), but I have a little bit of time left to maybe at least start my project and not be a total waste. Anyway, let’s get to my July favorites. There have been a few things this month that I didn’t just really like, but I seriously loved and became maybe, slightly obsessed with. First up, Pepperidge Farm Sausalito Cookies. It’s been a long…

Keanu Reeves – Binge Watch
I’ve been on summer break from work for 2 weeks now and while these past 2 weeks have been pretty busy (mainly with lots of appointments that I didn’t have time for during the school year) I have started to have some time to just watch tv and not do anything. In the past 4 days I have had an unintentional (or maybe intentional) Keanu Reeves marathon. I watched John Wick and John Wick Chapter 2 and all 3 Matrix movies. This led me to want to write a post about how much I love Keanu Reeves! So I haven’t seen all his movies, but I’ve seen a good amount. I’ve…

June 2019 Favorites
I can’t believe it’s July! I only have a few favorites to share from June and they’re pretty random so let’s get to it. Okay, for some reason the last few weeks of work this school year (meaning the first two weeks of June) I was eating the same thing for breakfast every morning on my way out the door – peanut butter on bread. Not toast – just bread. I think I was on a peanut butter kick and it was easy to just spread some peanut butter on bread, put it on a paper towel, run out the door, and eat it in the car on my way…

I Finally Saw Coco
If you know me, you know I love movies and tv. I pride myself in being well versed in a variety of genres. When I was looking at this article about the 50 Best Movies on Netflix Right Now I had seen a good handful of them, but there were a few I hadn’t seen. One being Coco. The Disney movie Coco came out 2 years ago and I just watched it for the first time last night. I know – super late to the game. I love Disney movies and pretty much everything Disney. So why did I wait so long to watch this well-loved movie? To be honest, I was…

5 Favorite Sandra Bullock Movies
The other day Chrissy Teigen tweeted that she has this thing where she purposely won’t watch movies that are super popular. Just something in her won’t allow her to do it. I think she even joked that she needs to see a therapist for her desire to “withhold joy” from her life. Funny thing is, I can be the same way! Yes, I love movies and tv and if it’s something I really want to see then I will see it. But a lot of times when I haven’t gotten to see something and then everyone is talking about how amazing it is – it loses its appeal to me. It’s…

Tearjerker Movies – Part 2
Over 2 years ago I wrote a post about a few movies that, without fail, will always make me cry. Although it was written back in 2016, it still gets consistent views today – as do some of my other movie posts so I guess I need to write more of those! My last post on tearjerker movies included Hachi, Stepmom, My Girl, Beaches, and Letters to Juliet. I thought it was time to do a round 2! This time around I have a mix of old and new movies. I’m talking about really old – before I was born, in to my childhood, and then within the past 2…

Cute Halloween Movies
So if you know me, you know I do not like being scared. I don’t like scary or creepy movies. That also means I don’t like scary, creepy Halloween costumes. I don’t hate Halloween, but it’s definitely not my favorite holiday. As a kid, I loved picking out a costume, going trick or treating, etc. But, I was the kid who always dressed up as something fun and cute like a princess, fairy, angel etc. I like the cute, whimsical version of Halloween. I don’t like the bloody, gory version. Costumes that involve fake blood? No thanks. Painting your face to look like a corpse or zombie? Nope. Since I don’t…

Teen Movies I Loved
Earlier this year I wrote a post about movies I loved growing up that were not widely known. For this installment, I decided to round up the first 5 teen movies I could think of that I used to love back when I was a teen. These movies range from when I was in middle school to when I was in high school. I’m sure there are a ton more but these are the first 5 that came to mind. 1. Idle Hands – I used to love this movie because I had a celeb crush on Devon Sawa. This teen movie plays off the saying “Idle hands are the Devil’s playground”. Sawa’s…

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Have you see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 yet? It just came out a few days ago but I feel like if you’re a fan, you’ll have seen it already. If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry I won’t give any spoilers! It’s unclear how much time has passed since the end of the first movie, but we do know that the Guardians get hired for jobs. The movie opens with them trying to protect a planet or group’s (I’m not really sure) special batteries from monsters that are trying to steal them. From there they, of course, find themselves getting into trouble and having to get themselves out…
