Why spring is the best time to make your next house move

    May 11, 2019 /

Springtime is just so inspiring, isn’t it?  Bursts of bright blossom, the latest looks in the stores and a mood of rebirth and opportunity everywhere around you. And it’s no surprise at all then that so many people choose this season to plan or launch their next house move. Pexels What are the reasons you might want to relocate? Maybe you’ve outgrown your current  place, or you want to be nearer your family or work – there are many reasons why anyone might want to move. You could be upsizing, joining a partner in the next town or city, or possibly even want to move interstate. Perhaps you’ve been…

    New Home Tips

    September 16, 2018 /

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then you know I recently became a homeowner. I’m loving my place but there are definitely a few things that I want to change and there are also a few things that I wish the former owners had told me. It’s a bit annoying, but there’s nothing I can do about it now except take care of what needs taking care of. However, if you are renting instead of buying then you have a lot more options than I do in terms of holding others accountable for things that need to get done in your place. For me as a townhouse…

I’m back with another home decor/furniture post. A desk wasn’t at the top of my list for furniture to get, but after the essentials that I needed to buy new (dining table, bedroom furniture, coffee table, kitchen cart, entry way table etc.) a desk was next on the list. A desk wasn’t something I needed urgently as I mostly work from my laptop on the couch and if I need to really sit I can sit at the dining table. I knew I needed one eventually so that I could have somewhere to put my cable modem, router, and a printer (when I buy one). So when I got back…

Today is the first day of school! As I write this (the night before), I am lamenting the fact that summer is officially over. There’s a little bit of excitement for a new year to start, meet my new students, and see old ones but that’s mixed with sadness that summer is over and dread of all the work ahead for me. Hopefully today’s a good day and leaves me feeling optimistic for the year ahead! In the meantime, today I’m writing about a home decor/furniture piece. As you know, I bought and moved in to a townhouse with my brother at the start of the summer. We bought a…

    Grafton Bed

    July 17, 2018 /

As many of you know, I recently bought a townhouse with my brother and have been moving in, furnishing it, etc. While there were a few things we brought over that we already owned, a majority of the items in the house are brand new. My bedroom furniture is all new. While I don’t think talking about my new dresser and skinny chest of drawers is very interesting, I do plan to talk in a future post about my closet organization and new vanity. But the piece of furniture I’m talking about today is my new bed which I’m in love with! My bedroom furniture (minus the vanity which is…

    Townhouse Painting: Before & After

    July 3, 2018 /

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog posts and Instastories then you know I recently bought a townhouse with my brother. I haven’t had a blog post dedicated to the topic, but I’ve mentioned it in a few posts so if you feel like you haven’t a clue then don’t worry you probably just missed it! In any case, we bought a townhouse and luckily the owners before us pretty much updated the whole interior when they bought it 4 years ago. It’s pretty modern inside with tile floors, granite countertops, and a sensored lighting system among other things. Despite the place being in pretty great condition, we knew…

2 Fights by @nikkicastleromance is the second book 2 Fights by @nikkicastleromance is the second book in the Fight Game series and follows Jax and Hailey. We met both characters in 5 Rounds. Jax is best friends with both Remy and Tristan and Hailey is Remy’s younger sister. Glimpses of Hailey’s toxic relationship was seen in the first book and in 2 Fights she begins to realize how harmful her boyfriend has been to her mental health and self esteem. Jax helps her through it all and reminds her of her amazing she is. Jax has looked out for Hailey since she was a kid but is now seeing her in a different light and realizing how beautiful and grown up she is. Hailey had a crush on Jax when she was a kid but now is there something there? They have always had chemistry, but now with all the time they’re spending together they can’t nor do they want to be apart. 💕📚

The love between Jax and Hailey is really sweet. We see their relationship go from a loving friendship to a soulmate type of love. There is lots of good spice, but the real story is about Hailey’s healing from her past and how Jax helps her along the way👫. I loved the book! My obsession with them is a little less than with Remy and Tristan, but still loved the book.

This is great for lovers of sports romance, friends to lovers, and sister’s best friend/best friend’s sister tropes. My full review is on the blog ✨

Things We Hide from the Light by @scorelucy picks Things We Hide from the Light by @scorelucy picks up right after Things We Never Got Over and focuses on Nash and Lina. Nash, our lovable police chief, is silently dealing with ptsd from almost dying and his shooter still on the run. Lina , our fiesty insurance investigator, is adjusting to temporarily living in the small town of Knockemout and surprisingly liking it. There was an instant attraction between the two and for some reason Nash can only feel calm and not anxious when she’s with him and Nash is the first person Lina has ever remotely considered a relationship with. 📖

Can Nash be the one to change her mind about relationships? Can Lina help him through his PTSD and be happy again? Will Nash be okay when he finds out that Lina is in town because she’s coincidentally after the same guy who tried to kill him? 👀 💖

I loved this book! Nash and Lina were such great characters and I was happy to be back in Knockemout with beloved characters especially Knox, Naomi, and Way of course! 💕📚

Read this if you’re in the mood for a spicy contemporary romance with brother’s best friend and forced proximity vibes. Now I can’t wait for Lucian and Sloane’s book! My full review is on the blog! 📚✨

I loved Always a Princess by @clyverose a few year I loved Always a Princess by @clyverose a few years ago so when she sent me her follow up in the series, The King’s Mistress, I was so excited! The novel takes place a few years after Always a Princess and follows Lydia, Wil’s younger sister who is now at marrying age, and Valkin, Syeira’s brother who is a Romany king. 👑

When Lydia finds out that her father has betrothed her to an old and mean Earl, she runs away to try to get to France to find safety in her eldest brother, Roger. But on the way she happens upon the Romany camp where Valkin, Syeira, and Wil live. Lydia claims she is the mistress of Valkin for protection. Wil and Syeira are away and Valkin does not recognize her after so many years. Unwilling to reveal her true identity in order to protect Valkin’s people, Lydia is comforted by the feeling of community and family (and the rekindling of her childhood crush on Valkin) until she is well enough to head to France. Valkin knows she should go for the safety of his people but he also doesn’t want to let her go. 💕

The slow burn, tension, and angst in this book was so good! I loved Lydia and Valkin and getting to see beloved couple Wil and Syeira and their growing family again. My full review is on the blog ✨📖
