Brushmarl Dress
You might be wondering what exactly brushmarl is. It’s actually exactly what it sounds like. A lightweight marled dress with a brushed finish. I’m a big fan of the Lou & Grey pieces that LOFT carries. They are the softest clothes! They make amazing loungewear, but I’ve gotten some great pieces from them that could be casual or work wear appropriate. This brushmarl dress is one of those pieces. I can wear it with sandals out and about or to work with wedges or flats and some accessories. I wore this grey button down dress to work with a Kendra Scott necklace in my birthstone. Love the split neck and…

Blue & White Striped Linen Shirt Dress
I think this is the last linen piece I’m sharing for a while, but if you’re a regular follower here then you know I’ve been getting in a good amount of linen this summer! I love the blue and white stripes of this shirt dress. Vertical stripes can be very flattering – more so than horizontal stripes. There is a slip attached inside, which I may detach so that I can put one on at a time. Attached slips are always tricky and I find them to make it so much more complicated than it has to be to put a dress on or take it off. To give the…

Restyled: Shaker Knit Sweater + Plaid Shirt Dress
I hope you all had a good weekend and you’re not too down about the fact that it’s back to work today. The outfit I’m sharing today is not just a restyling of the sweater and of the plaid shirt dress, but it’s also kind of a throwback look since it’s kind of 90s looking. I wanted to wear this blue and green plaid shirt dress to work last week, but I knew with it’s lightweight material that I’d need a sweater since I would most likely be cold. Instead of wearing it with a cardigan, I decided to wear my shaker knit sweater over it. I wore sweater tights and…

Pinstripe Shirt Dress
For Christmas, my aunt gave me a really cute blue striped, shirt dress. Unfortunately it didn’t fit and I had to exchange it. I tried to get the same dress in another size because it was seriously so cute, but they didn’t have it anymore so I got another dress that was similar. This blue, pinstriped shirt dress has a tie waist and I love that the belt loops are actual fabric and not just dinky little strings like a lot of dresses have. I’m surprised, considering it’s Forever 21 so it is more budget friendly. I paired the dress with my much loved embroidered mules. I did a quick…

Dark Floral Shirt Dress
I bought this dress on a whim from Old Navy and when I wore it to work a few weeks ago it was a huge hit. Honestly, I was surprised it was such a hit! I mean, I’m a fan of florals and shirt dresses and obviously I liked this dress enough to buy it, but I was definitely not expecting as much positive feedback as I received. Multiple students told me they loved my dress as well as a bunch of my coworkers. At one point later on in the day one of my coworkers saw me (she hadn’t seen me all day) and said “Oh so this is…

Stained Glass Shirt Dress
I’m loving that I can wear dresses more often to work now. Not that I couldn’t in the winter with tights, but it’s just so much easier with the warmer weather. This stained glass shirt dress gives me retro vibes and makes me think of the 60s – I love it! It’s so comfortable and I love the high neckline. Dress: LOFT | Booties: Betsey Johnson via DSW | Watch: Olivia Burton via Nordstrom This dress is another one of those buys that I saw the picture of online and had to investigate further. Those advertisements get me all the time! I love the stained glass print of this shirt dress.…

Restyled: Red Plaid Shirt Dress
I’m back to work and after two full weeks off for the holidays it’s going to be so hard to be back to the real world today! Hopefully the day goes by stress free and isn’t too bad. The restyling I’m sharing today is of a dress I originally wore on here 2 or more years ago! When I wore my blue & green plaid dress on here and mentioned my red plaid dress it made me want to wear it. So I did just that a few weeks ago. I decided that I would wear it a bit differently than the last time I shared the dress on the blog…

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! It’s hard for me to believe that it’s already Thanksgiving (and the day is almost over at that) time. Time really does fly. As always, I’m thankful for my family and friends near and far and all the wonderful things in my life. This year, as it is my first year of blogging, I am also grateful for all of you! All of the people who take the time to read my posts and visit my little corner of the Internet from all over the country and even all around the world – you really are amazing! It means so much to me and…
