    Photo Challenge: Nighttime

How exciting is it when a nighttime picture actually turns out good on your phone or camera? Sometimes you want to capture something at night and it just will not come out right leading to a lot of frustration.  Then other times the picture comes out so awesome that you want to jump for joy! So last Friday, The Daily Post, posted a nighttime photo challenge. I didn’t get a chance to get a nighttime picture this week. I wanted to try to get one last weekend because I was in upstate New York for the day and thought I could get a great nighttime bridge picture on the way home,…

    Tribal Print Romper//Crochet Trimmed Top

I can’t believe it’s September…or that it’s Labor Day! I have a double feature OOTD for you all today. I could say it’s to celebrate the long weekend, but really it’s because I’m falling behind in my schedule of things I want to post!   Crop Sweater: by Take Out via Kohls Romper: Angie via Marshalls Earrings: Target Nails: Tangerine Crush by L’Oreal I wore this to dinner recently and it is so bright and summery. The elastic at the top was a little twisted, but was easily fixed. Aztec Print Tank OOTD

Recently a few of my friends decided to have a barbecue at a local park. It’s something we used to do a lot back in college and is always a fun time. I wore a tank with an aztec print and denim shorts. I’m featuring this look just because I love the colors of this tank top. The bright pink and the multi-colored print is just so bright and happy! Top:  Aztec Print Top by Signorelli via Lord & Taylor Lace trimmed camisole:  Macy’s Shorts:  LC Lauren Conrad Cuffed Denim Shorts via Kohls Shoes: Old Navy flip flops Face: Tarte Clean Slate Poreless Perfecting Primer, Clinique Acne Solutions Foundation mixed with…

    Striped Summer Dress

On my last night in Hawaii I wore this striped dress. The bright colors scream summer and it is lightweight and comfortable. The dress is strapless, but I wore a short sleeve cardigan with it because restaurants are always chilly with the air condition on.  Dress:  Derek Heart via Kohls Cardigan:  Mossimo via Target The dress hits above the knee and the purple strings on top can be tied any way you like. I have trouble keeping them tied, no matter how I knot them they always come undone! It’s not a drawstring, it’s just two strings that are stitched to the center. They also have little silver sparkly balls…

    Polka Dots & Lace

I recently talked about my love for lace in a post a few days ago (see here). I’m also a fan of polka dots if they aren’t too in your face. I love this casual top. Love the combination of grey and white and the mint green trim. Top: Rewind via Kohls Shorts: Energie French Terry Shortie Shorts via Kohls As much as I love the front, my love for the back of this top cannot be put into words! The back is cinched together with a button and the whole middle is lace. Seriously, I cannot put into words how much I love this top! It is very cute and…

    Floral High-Low Dress

High-Low, Hi-Lo, High-Lo, Hi-Low – I’ve seen it all ways and I have no idea if there is a “correct” way/spelling to term the dress but whatever, you guys know what I mean! I got this dress at Target last summer. I actually remember exactly when I got it. I was out of town for a friend’s wedding in which I was a bridesmaid. After the rehearsal dinner a few of the bridesmaids and I went to Target to buy some supplies such as things to decorate the bride’s hotel room door with to surprise her. I saw this dress and had to buy it! These pictures are taken on…

    Lace on Lace

On one of my last nights on the Big Island before leaving for the Oahu portion of my vacation I decided to wear a top with some lace in it with lace shorts. Lace is one of my favorite materials so when something is lace trimmed I’m all about it. Top:  Mudd via Kohls Shorts:  LC Lauren Conrad via Kohls Shoes: JCrew Factory This light pink shirt has a slight hi-low cut and has horizontal lace panels. The shorts – I wore previously on the trip and featured in my Kailua-Kona post here. I think lace is such a great material because it can easily be dressed up or down depending on…

    Hawaii: Beach & Pool Looks

I’m nearing the end of my vacation in Hawaii and my beach and pool looks are starting to repeat, but I thought I’d show you some looks from the last few days. Top: Mossimo via Target Shorts: Tribal Print Wrap-Front Short from Forever 21 Love these shorts – they’re so cute! And the wrap detail makes them so different than regular shorts. It’s important to note that this is not a stretchy material at all. It is a bit stiff and is not forgiving so it would be a good idea to size up. I wore this outfit over this bathing suit… Swimsuit: Candie’s Vintage Bouquet Floral via Kohls The…

Chevron & Romper – Beach OOTD

I spent another relaxing day at the beach on Friday. This time I went with a chevron and teal accented bikini and purple/pink print romper. The romper is cute and comfortable once I’m wearing it, but it can be a pain to put on because the top part (where the crochet accent is) is not elastic or stretchy so it’s not the easiest thing to put on especially when trying to put it on over a bathing suit. Bikini – Xhiliration from Target Romper – Sears
