    Christmas Sweets & Treats

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with loved ones yesterday. It all comes and goes way too fast, but I’ve still got some photos to share with Christmas decor in the background so I’m holding on to the holiday for a little while longer. Plus, I’m headed to D.C. today for a few days and I’m sure my photos there will have Christmas decorations involved. Side note – as with all my trips I’ll be keeping a travel diary on here so starting tomorrow I’ll be documenting my trip until I return this weekend! I’m going to share what I wore for Christmas in a few days, but…

    Rainbow Cookies

I can’t believe Christmas is a week away! Have you finished your shopping? I think I’m done. Hopefully I won’t realize this weekend that I forgot someone. I still need to do some wrapping, but that’s about it. I think. Anyway, my next two or three food posts are good for the holidays. The rainbow cookies I’m sharing today are a favorite of mine. Unfortunately, I don’t have the exact recipe on me as I type this so I can’t give you exact measurements, but you can find recipes all over the internet. I’m still sharing this post despite not having the recipe on hand at the moment because Christmas…

If you aren’t familiar with the dessert, it is sticky rice cooked in coconut milk with additional coconut milk drizzled on top and served with mango. The warm, sweet, rice is so good and the fresh, sweet mango is the perfect balance both in taste and in temperature. One of the recipes I saw said to mix jasmine and sweet rice together, which is…

Photo Challenge: Variations on a Theme

Happy Friday! This has felt like the longest week. Anyone else feel that way? For last week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post, I thought for a while of what I could use. The challenge was “Variations on a Theme“. The example given was of a whole display of different forms of gouda cheese at a shop in Amsterdam. Such a great example! I have similar photos from my trip, but didn’t want to do the same thing. But I did choose a food photo. I took this photo back in September when I was at a macaron shop, Woops!, at the mall. I love macarons and since I don’t…
