Photo Challenge: Depth

This past week’s photo challenge was a little tricky. When I read that the challenge was “Depth”  I couldn’t think of any pictures I might be taking during the week that would show depth and no random shots came up during the week either.  So into old pictures I went and decided on this one:

This picture was taken on my way up to the summit of Mauna Kea – a volcano on Hawaii this past August. When you’re hanging out amidst the clouds there is a sense of depth both literally and figuratively. Somewhere beneath those clouds is the ocean and the land. Somewhere up there when you’re surrounded by so much natural beauty you can also reflect more deeply about anything – yourself, the world, nature, beauty in general. So this photo can really represent depth in multiple ways!
