Home Decor: Wood and Metal

It’s been a while since I wrote up an interior design post. A few weeks ago Polyvore had a challenge to incorporate Wood & Metal in the home. I think I’ve said this before, but one of my favorite rooms in a house is the kitchen. It’s where you cook and more importantly eat, which is one of my favorite past times. It’s also a great gathering point for family and friends where everyone can talk and laugh over food or coffee etc.

This kitchen is a little different than any I’ve posted before (I have one or two others up) because this is the first time I’ve used wood this dark. The black or dark wood definitely is a more modern look than the warm homey look I went for last time (here).

Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, I’m really loving these copper cookware items all of a sudden. I think there’s something really classy and different than the normal stainless steel.

To round out the Wood & Metal look, I included a metallic wall art piece that I think is beautiful and a wood framed silkscreen wall art piece that features words and phrases such as “kiss the cook”, “sweet treats”, “heart of the home”. So that’s what I put together for this challenge and will have to last me until the next time I dream up some home decor!
