Photo Challenge: Early Bird

It’s finally Friday, which means it’s Photo Challenge Day here at Life According to Jamie! The past week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Early Bird” so I needed to use a picture captured in the early morning. I took a few different pictures this past week, but I think the one that turned out the best is the one below.

I took this picture of the weeping cherry tree in front of my house with the rising sun behind it. This picture was taken at about 6:15am when I was getting ready for work. The tree is so pretty and it’s a shame that it only blooms for a short amount of time and then spends the rest of the spring/summer as a green leaved tree. Since it’s blooms are short lived I’m happy I captured this shot with the sun coming up and creating a light orange, yellow glow behind it. I’m glad this was the photo challenge this week because when I’m busy rushing around to get to work in the morning, I often forget just how beautiful the morning can be.
