Did you guys watch the Emmys last night? I liked all of Andy Samberg’s musical numbers; they brought me back to all the ones he did with The Lonely Island during his time on Saturday Night Live.
I watched the awards show but didn’t watch the red carpet coverage. Instead, I browsed through the red carpet looks online while watching the awards. I picked out my Top 8 looks, so let’s get started!
Diane Guerreo – I love that the cut-out in this dress is very subtle, keeping it a classy, elegant gown.
Lena Headey looks stunning in this Zuhair Murad gown. I love the sparkly silver cross-cross design throughout the burgundy gown. And can you believe she had a baby in July?!
Gina Rodriguez looks like a princess in this Lorena Sarbu number. I love the sparkly bodice and the subtle fluffiness of the bottom half of her gown. Her red clutch is a beautiful pop of color against this light colored gown.
Claire Danes – I don’t know what it is about this gown, but I like it! The color combination of the sequin stripes work great together and the straps on her shoulders and sides seem to be made out of chain. The look definitely caught my eye.
Chelsea Peretti did floral in a formal way. I saw some other floral looks, but the other ones I saw all seemed too casual for the Emmys. I feel this gown took it up a notch and I love that the top and bottom halves are different, yet go together so well.
Joanne Froggatt is certainly becoming a red carpet style icon in my eyes! I love her gown – she looks so classy. I saw quite a few looks last night that featured sheer materials, yet most of them looked way too much like lingerie in my opinion! I like that Joanne’s look features a solid gown, but has a sheer black cape-like piece to it.
Allison Janney looks amazing in this black and tan gown. She looks so confident and comfortable and why shouldn’t she? She’s rockin’ that dress!
Lastly, Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham. I love the belt and the fit and style of her gown. Like Gina Rodriguez, she chose a red clutch to really stand out against her gown. I also love her side-swept hair with this gown. An up-do would’ve been too prom-ish.
There were plenty of more beautiful looks from the night, but these were the ones I personally liked best. Maggie Gyllenhaal almost made it onto the list, I loved the color combo of her dress, but ultimately I didn’t include her look because I wasn’t a fan of the material.
Were there any looks that stood out to you?
P.S. If you haven’t seen it yet, I have a new loop giveaway on my Instagram! It’s for a $100 Starbucks giftcard!
