Last week I watched the movie “The Age of Adaline”. If you don’t know what the movie is about, it is about Adaline, a woman born in the early 1900s, who after an accident never ages. I thought the concept was cool and it centers around a love story, which always makes me more likely to watch a movie. But what I really loved about this movie was the fashion and Adaline’s style because she lived through decades and decades as a young woman.
Adaline was played by Blake Lively, and although I’ll always be a Blair Waldorf fan (#blair&chuckforever), I’ll give Blake Lively/Serena Van Der Woodsen some props for her real life/character’s style choices.
Here are some looks from the movie that showcase her style throughout the years.
Something I love about her style is that even throughout the years, the costume department chose to keep her style classic. There’s no blatant use of trends, but that’s not to say that the pieces they chose for Adaline were not trendy. On the contrary, they dressed her in pieces that were popular in each time but I feel could also transcend time. I tried to post the pictures above in chronological order, so as you can see the clothing changes through time, but her overall style is consistent. Adaline has a sophisticated, timeless style that I love!
