Christmas Tree Brownies
Merry Christmas Eve!
I have one last Christmas treat to share with you all this year. When looking online for different ideas, I kept seeing Christmas Tree Brownies and they looked easy to make. You make brownies as you normally would, cut them into triangles, and decorate. While the whole process was fairly easy, the end result is sure to be a festive hit at your holiday gathering or just for yourself!
I made brownies from a mix. While those baked, I worked on the icing and candy canes. I used pre-made frosting and spooned some into a bowl. I microwaved it for 10 seconds to soften it and make it more liquid-y, more icing like. After giving it a stir, I added 2 drops of green food dye and mixed it. I wanted a light green so 2 drops was good. If you want a darker green, add more drops.
I got baby size candy canes. You want to break the curve off. First, I tried using a knife but that didn’t work too well for me. It made a mess! So I ended up just snapping the hooks off.
After the brownies are done and cooled, I took it out of the pan and cut it into a square shape to make it easier to cut out the triangles. The scraps I put aside to be eaten as regular brownies.
I put the green icing into a ziplock bag to decorate the trees. I don’t own a real piping bag, but the ziplock does the job. I saw pictures online of zigzag designs for the trees and I liked that so that’s what I did.
To finish off the trees, I sprinkled sprinkles on and stuck the candy canes in.
Pretty easy, right? I really like how they turned out!
I have another post scheduled for later on today with some Christmas music oldies but goodies to further get us in the Christmas spirit since the weather isn’t helping. I hope you all have a wonderful day whether you are celebrating Christmas or not!
