Lace-Up Flats

You may have noticed that lace-up flats are huge right now. A lot of them are pretty similar in style and look pretty much the same. I’ve been thinking about getting a pair since last summer and I finally picked up a pair!

I wasn’t sure what color I should get. The pair I liked came in black, tan, and blush. I felt like black and tan/brown flats or shoes are so common, especially in my closet, so I decided to get the blush color.

Flats are usually associated with a more casual look and while some flats are bedazzled in a way to make them look fancier, it is true that in general flats are for a more laid-back style. What I think helps these particular flats dressier is the pointed toe. There’s just something about the pointed toe that makes it look fancier. I definitely think that if this shoe was still the same color and had the same lace style, but had a rounded toe it would look like a much more casual shoe.

I’m glad I went for the blush color because I really love it. It’s the perfect fresh color for spring. Now, if it could just stop raining already so I can wear these more often! They are faux suede, but still I don’t want to mark them up with rain, so I can’t wait til the next time I get to wear them!
