It’s finally Friday! It sure took it’s time this week. This past week’s photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Face“. This was probably one of the most challenging photo challenges for me because I didn’t want to use a photo of the face of a friend or family member as I don’t normally include photos of them so it would be weird to do for a photo challenge. Not to mention, I’m not sure if any of them would agree! Plus, I like when I can make my photo challenge responses be at least somewhat artistic (when I’m able to) and I think a random photo of a friend would feel forced or posed.
So, I started to think about what artwork i.e. statues, sculptures, and things I may have pictures of from museums or from travels that could work. And I’m sure I would’ve found multiple photos that I could’ve used from said museums, but some reason my mind jumped from museum to Disney World. I decided to look through my photos from last spring when I went to Disney, because surely I must have taken a photo of something with a character’s face or a garden sculpture of Mickey’s face or something, right? It’s possible, but I’m not sure because when I came across the photo that I decided to use, I stopped looking.
I completely forgot about this picture! This was taken at Epcot, which is one of the Disney World parks, at the Italian restaurant, Via Napoli. The restaurant offers a variety of Italian dishes and one of their main staples is pizza cooked in wood burning ovens. These ovens just so happen to be in the “mouths” of these stone faces.
When this new photo challenge first went up, I had no idea what to use and I even had the tiniest thought of skipping out on this week. But in the end, I think I found the perfect photo and it took me on a stroll down memory lane and rediscover a photo I had completely forgotten about!
