Photo Challenge: Transmogrify

Friday! If you read my post yesterday, I’m happy to report that I am on schedule with my to-do list of work that needs to get done. Hopefully today goes smoothly so I can stay on schedule and avoid additional stress. As with every Friday, I’m sharing my photo response to The Daily Post’s weekly photo challenge. This week’s challenge was “Transmogrify” and like me you may be asking what does transmogrify mean?? Luckily, Michelle from The Daily Post, who posted this challenge shared the definition. It is “to change in appearance or form, especially strangely or grotesquely; transform.”

This one really had me scratching my head trying to figure out what I was going to use or take a picture of. Did I have a cool picture of a graffiti wall? An object that has been transformed into something else? I might, but I couldn’t think of any off the top of my head and with how busy I’ve been this week the last thing I had time to do was comb through my photo archives not knowing what I’m looking for! Then, a thought came to mind. Last weekend, I wrote about my recent visit to the Harry Potter Festival in Pennsylvania. The festival turned blocks of Chestnut Hill into a Harry Potter themed area. Many of the stores and restaurants transformed or transmogrified (!) into something Harry Potter related. A hardware store turned into Ollivander’s and of course I got a picture of it.

There were so many people around that I couldn’t get a bigger shot of the store so that you could tell it was a hardware store during normal business days. So you’ll just have to trust me that it is! This is a fitting photo for transmogrified because it reminds me of the word “transfiguration”, which any Potter fan will know is magic that allows wizards to change one object or person into another.

So that’s my example of transmogrification (transfiguration)! Enjoy your Friday!
