Clara Silk Chiffon

It’s back to work for me today after a long weekend away for my friend’s wedding and visiting family. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen a few photos. The wedding was for my oldest friend in the world. We’ve known each other and been good friends since we were toddlers! Today, I’m sharing my wedding guest look.

I wore a silk chiffon dress I got on sale from J.Crew Factory in the shade “dark cove” called the “Clara” dress. It is a rich blue color with a sweetheart neckline and blue sheer see-through material at the décolletage, shoulders, and shoulder blades/upper back in the back. The upper body of the dress had a ruche detailing. Thankfully the dress still fit perfectly after I was non-stop eating the days leading up to the wedding! More on all the good eats from my weekend trip in an upcoming post.

Dress: J.Crew | Shoes: DSW | Earrings: Stella & Dot

I absolutely love this dress and the chiffon material was perfect to travel with. I had it on a hanger and garment bag in my suitcase and hung it up when I arrived in town, which helped but the chiffon material was still great because the natural crinkly material means it’s not necessary to iron it unless it is really bad, which it wasn’t. I decided to go simple with the jewelry and only wore earrings. The earrings are the “Sophie” earring from Stella & Dot and were a birthday gift from my bestie. They feature a glass pearl on a gold bar that has a short chain and the post attached. I finished the look with black heels and my black Rebecca Minkoff purse with gold chain strap.

My cousin was my +1 and the wedding was beautiful and a good time. Congratulations again to the happy couple!
