November 2016 Favorites

Somehow we’re already on the brink of the last month of the year. I have no idea how that happened. It doesn’t seem all that long ago that I was talking about how crazy it was that we were in 2016. Now it’s the last day of November already. So today I’m rounding up some things I’ve loved this month.

First up, my favorite fruit lately has been persimmons. I’ve loved persimmons for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was little I would call them pumpkins because the fruit (uncut) looked like small pumpkins. These little fruits are in season from October-February so I’ve just recently been able to find them in the supermarket and I’ve been eating a lot of them lately! I even brought one to work with my lunch yesterday.

Another food favorite this month is chestnuts! I love chestnuts and again have loved them for as long as I can remember. When I was little, my dad would roast them in foil in our fireplace during the winter. Nowadays I just cook them in my toaster oven, but they are delicious as ever.

This month I finally opened up my J’adore Perfume by Dior. I got it as a gift from my parents a while ago but had other perfumes I was trying to finish up. Everything from the scent to the bottle is so classy. The perfume smells so nice and isn’t a heavy smell at all with its notes of ylang-ylang, Damascus rose, and sambac jasmine.

Another favorite of mine this month was my iPhone car charger which I got for a few dollars a couple years ago from a discount store. With Thanksgiving last week and so many little trips to meet up with friends that live a little ways away, my charger was a life saver on so many occasions this month especially when I was draining my phone’s battery for GPS and traffic updates.

I have a couple videos I really loved this month. One is the White House Halloween video! Have you seen it? Watching the kids trick or treat at the White House is adorable and President Obama’s interaction with the kids is priceless. I love the little boy who says “That’s POTUS!”

Another favorite video this month was when Benedict Cumberbatch stopped by The Tonight Show. During his interview, they played Mad Libs. If you don’t know what Mad Libs is, it’s a game where you pick random words according to directions such as a color or verb. Those words get plugged into a story and the outcome is usually hilarious. Jimmy and Benedict used the words chosen from Mad Libs to act out an interrogation scene. It had me laughing out loud it was so funny!

Next, two weeks ago the official trailer was released for the live-action Beauty & the Beast! I’m so excited for this movie! It looks amazing and Beauty & the Beast is my favorite Disney movie from when I was a kid. I may have watched this trailer more than once…

My last favorite of the month is the song I’ve been loving lately – Sia’s “Bird Set Free”. I recently heard it on this past season of Dancing with the Stars and loved it so much that I’ve been listening to it quite a bit.

That does it for my November favorites! What are some things you loved this month?
