Style Inspiration: Emma Watson
We’ve watched Emma Watson grow up before our eyes. From a pre-teen on the big screen as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films to Belle in the soon-to-be released Beauty and the Beast live-action movie. Aside from her film accomplishments she’s become quite the style icon and someone for women everywhere to look up to for her intelligence, grace, and voice in the fight for equal rights.
I’m such an Emma Watson fan so I’m really excited to see her in the new Beauty & the Beast film since it was my favorite Disney movie growing up. I already have plans to see it this Friday! A post on my thoughts on the film will be sure to follow. Since there has been so much hype surrounding the film, all the premieres and press days for it have been highly publicized. With these highly publicized events comes lots of opportunities for Emma to shine in beautiful fashion and that she did and is still doing this week up til opening day! What is super cool is that all or most of what Emma has been wearing is all upcycled or socially/environmentally conscious materials. Emma started a new Instagram page chronicling the press tour especially everything she wore with lots of detail on the design process and materials used in everything she wore! Check out The Press Tour (here)!
In this post I’m sharing some of the gorgeous looks she wore to various premieres and press days recently in promoting the movie.

Emma wore this gorgeous off-the-shoulder gown with inverted pleat train by Emilia Wickstead to the London premiere. According to @the_press_tour it is made from end-of-line fabric.

This Oscar de la Renta jumpsuit Emma wore to the Hollywood premiere fits her perfectly. I love the sharp bust line and the plunging back.

How beautiful is this Elie Saab gown? Emma wore this to the Shanghai premiere. You can tell that so much intricate work went in to it. According to @the_press_tour it is made from left-over fabric from a previous Haute Couture Elie Saab gown.

This 3.1 Phillip Lim outfit Emma wore to a press day in London is so youthful, classic, and fun at the same time. I love the fitted look and the cutouts at her waist. According to @the_press_tour this outfit is made from responsibly sourced FSC viscose and Oeko-Tex 100 certified biodegradable acetate yarn.
This Louis Vuitton dress Emma wore in Paris is definitely her boldest look I’ve seen so far during this press tour. I love how bright the blue is and how different the dress is. If you can believe it, this dress is made from plastic bottles. Yes, plastic bottles!! It is made from recycled polyester created from used plastic bottles.
The last look I’m sharing today is another look from Paris and another Oscar de la Renta look. This “Jacobian flower-embroidered duchesse satin bustier with an organic silk faille sash and organic wool trousers” may be my favorite one of all! It is so different and adventurous, yet beautiful and sophisticated.
All these looks are so gorgeous and I think it’s so amazing how much thought she puts in to what she’s wearing. Not just what designer or “what” as in what it looks like, but actually what materials she’s wearing and how they are produced. She’s such a star!
What look do you like best?

The last one is probably my favorite:) I remember watching her UN Address promoting education equality for girls, it was so necessary and moving.
