Photo Challenge: Surprise

When I saw last week that the photo challenge from The Daily Post was “Surprise” I really couldn’t think of what to use for my photo. I seriously was wracking my brain trying to find a photo or think of a photo to take that might fit the prompt. Then, last weekend I was in the city to see Anastasia on Broadway. Before the show I went to lunch at Bareburger and shortly before arriving at the restaurant I saw some sidewalk art that made me stop in my tracks to get a picture.

This sidewalk art can be found in spots throughout New York City and New Jersey and I find it to be a pleasant surprise on the sidewalk! This particular one was on 46th street.

I did a little bit of research on this whole “Protect Yo Heart” street art thing and found that it is created by an artist named UnCutt Art. Some love it and some hate it. Some see it as a positive messages around the city and some see it as vandalism. Whichever camp you fall in, I think you can at least say it’s a little surprise and positive message in the concrete jungle.
