Christmas Ruffian Nails
Merry Christmas Eve! I can’t believe Christmas is actually here. It seems to have really crept up out of nowhere this year. My family and I are actually celebrating Christmas today because we’re flying out tomorrow morning for a family trip. I have a few posts scheduled to go up while I’m away and I will be starting some travel diary posts later on in the week while I’m gone. But, to see what I’m up to you can always check out my Instagram particularly my stories for live updates!
I always try to do festive nails for Christmas and I’d been looking at ideas for a while. i wanted to do something different but not too difficult as my nail art skills are limited. I thought about doing ornaments but my free hand skills aren’t stellar and my nail beds aren’t that big so I thought it’d be a bit difficult for me. Then, I remembered a few years ago I did a ruffian manicure for my friend’s wedding and I thought that’d be perfect for Christmas using red, green , and white!
- White – “Alpine Snow”
- Red – “Fiery”
- Green – “High Stakes”
- Top Coat
Don’t mind my paper cut on my pinky finger. Hazards of christmas wrapping!
I painted my nails white first and then waited for it to dry. Then I did the ruffian style painting over top. I did my ring fingers with the green first so I wouldn’t accidentally paint them all red. Then, I did the rest of my fingers with the red. Once that was dry, I used my top coat.
I love the way this turned out! I’m on day 6 of the polish and it’s starting to chip a little on the tips. If I was going to be home I’d keep it on for another few days but since I’m heading out of town tomorrow I might remove the polish. We’ll see!
Did you do anything festive with your nails this year?
