Shrimp & Steak Whiskey Teriyaki Skewers

I’m back to share another grilling recipe today! Since yesterday we got a glimpse of beautiful, 70+ weather, I wanted to share another warm weather recipe today. I made this last summer and didn’t get to share it so I’m sharing it now. This recipe is from The Food Network. I saw it on The Kitchen. I stuck to the recipe, so click on the link for the exact recipe and directions, but I made 3 little changes.

The three changes I made:

  1. I put the shrimp and steak on separate skewers instead of alternating them on the same skewer for more even cooking time. I like my steak more well done and shrimp generally cooks pretty quick so it made more sense for me to separate them.
  2. This recipe is actually for bourbon teriyaki and you may have noticed that I called this post “whiskey teriyaki”. That’s because I didn’t have bourbon, but I did have Jack Daniels which is a whiskey. I’m not a big drinker so I really don’t know the little differences – through a Google search I know that bourbons are whiskeys so I don’t really know the technical differences!
  3. The recipe calls for oranges and I used pineapple instead.

Such a good surf & turf meal and perfect for the warm weather! Happy grilling!
