Italian Pinwheels
Pinwheels are great for parties and/or when you’re trying to feed a group of people. Since summer is just about here and there always tends to be more social gatherings in the warmer months, I thought I’d share this Italian Pinwheel recipe that I found on Pinterest and have tried a few times in the past.
So when I made the pinwheels for these photos, I basically followed the recipe except I didn’t use banana peppers so I used extra roasted red peppers. I also did not use parmesan. The last change I made wasn’t really a change moreso a preference and note – I used whipped cream cheese just because it’s easier to spread.
So the key to pinwheels is just to layer all the filling products. First, you make the spread which consists of the cream cheese, bread crumbs, and red peppers. Then, spread it on your tortillas. Layer the cheese, salami, pepperoni, and romaine lettuce. Roll it up and refrigerate it for at least an hour. You went it to be all set so that when you cut it, it doesn’t just fall apart on you.
That’s it! So easy and delicious!
It’s been a while since I’ve made these and looking at these photos makes me want some now! I will have to make them soon!
