Chocolate Hazelnut Bear Claw
I was recently sent a copy of “I Love My Air Fryer” 5 -Ingredient Recipe Book that was just released this week. I tried out the recipe for chocolate hazelnut bear claws and they were delicious!
For the recipe you need:
- puff pastry dough
- chocolate hazelnut spread like Nutella
- egg (for egg wash)
- confectioner’s sugar
- sliced or chopped almonds
Cut the sheet of puff pastry into 4 squares, brush with the egg wash, fill with some of the hazelnut spread, seal the edges in a triangle shape, and cut 4 slits for venting. The cookbook said to sprinkle the confectioner’s sugar and almonds on top before putting in the air fryer, but I added more sugar afterwards because the sugar all melted in the air fryer.

They came out really good, but I kept thinking they looked more like turnovers than bear claws. Then that got me thinking that I could do this same thing but with an apple filling to make apple turnovers in the air fryer in the fall!
I haven’t tried anything else from the book yet, but I do want to try making the egg roll recipe in there.
