Disneyland Day 1
On Saturday my cousins and I did our first of three park days at Disneyland. We spent Saturday mostly at Disney California Adventure and ended up walking across to Disneyland for about 2 hours that night before heading back to the hotel.
I have a lot of photos to share in this post and those are just the highlights! So I’m going to keep the text of this post short. Basically, we walked over to the park from the hotel and waited at the DCA entrance for them to start letting us in at 7:30am. Then, we rope dropped Radiator Springs Racers in Cars Land because it is not available for Lightning Lane Multi-pass so you have to do the standby lane. We went on a bunch of rides, Incredicoaster 3 times!. We rode the Little Mermaid ride twice because the first time our seashell stayed turned the wrong way the whole time so they let us go around again haha. We ate delicious mini Mickey waffles for breakfast, had lunch at Pym Test Kitchen in Avengers Campus. The restaurant is Ant-Man themed so everything is either huge or tiny. My nachos had chips like the size of tostadas haha. We got sweet treats like tiramasu Mickey macarons and Baymax macarons and ate them in San Fransokyo to relax a bit.
One of the things we all really wanted to do was to see the lights turn on in Cars Land. The lights switch on at sunset so we hung around there starting about 30 minutes before sunset, along with a ton of other people. So worth it! I’m going to do a whole post on the lights turning on and share photos of Cars Land at night next week. We got bacon mac & cheese cones for dinner after the lights switched on and it was delicious. My cousin has been waiting to get these cones for years after seeing them online!
After this we decided to head over to Disneyland and got a LL pass to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. While waiting for our LL time we sat down for a few minutes at an empty table across from the ride and just so happened to stumble upon the Fantasmic! show. Very cool coincidence to sit in a spot where we could see parts of the show! My cousin who was amazed said, “What have we stumbled upon?!” Another amazing timing thing is that by the time we left watching Fantasmic and went on to Big Thunder we ended up riding it just as the fireworks were starting! It was amazing to ride while the fireworks were going off. Lastly, we went on to Pirates of the Caribbean which had just reopened from refurbishment that day! While waiting to board the ride at Pirates we could see Blue Bayou – the restaurant inside the ride that we had a reservation for the next day.
It was a great first day at the Disneyland parks!
