August 2026 Favorite Books

I’ve been back to work for a week now, but today is the first day of school/first day with students (I’m writing this the night before) so hopefully it’s a good first day! July was a amazing reading month for me and then it slowed down a bit in August. I didn’t read as many books in August and I wouldn’t say I was much busier in August than in July. I think the books I read just took me longer to get through than the ones last month. Anyway, I still read a good number of books so keep reading to see my favorite ones and then my top fav of the month!

My favorites for the month were:

• While We’re Young by K.L. Walther (review to come)
• Unlucky Like Us by Krista & Becca Ritchie
• Nobody Like Us by Krista & Becca Ritchie
• The Gilded Blade by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
• The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren
• The Summer of Second Chances by K.L. Walther

A couple repeat authors in my favorites, but they’re just that good!

For my top favorite of the month I debated between The Romance Revival and The Summer of Second Chances but I chose The Romance Revival in the end.

I had to really think when deciding between Our Perfect Storm and The Romance Revival too. I didn’t like the third act breakup in Our Perfect Storm but I felt more emotionally connected to it so ultimately went with that for my yearly bracket!
