    Ice Cream

What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream? I go through phases of what my favorite is and I can go for months or a year even of just eating that flavor. I like pretty classic flavors and vanilla will always be a go-to for me, but I also love mint chocolate chip, cookie dough, cookies and cream, butter pecan, tin roof sundae, and more. Last summer I was on a real pistachio almond kick. These photos with me and my mint chocolate chip cone, sprinkle clutch, and chambray jumpsuit is from last summer when we could go out to the ice cream parlors sans mask.

    Baked by Melissa Delivery

Have you ever had the little tiny cupcakes from Baked by Melissa? They make all different kinds of little tiny cupcakes that are literally like bite size pieces of heaven. I first went to the shop and tried their cupcakes years ago – I believe shortly after college and that’s a while ago. I think my friend told me about them because she had heard of the shop and so one day when we were in the city (New York City) we went. Anyway, I remember them being so delicious and Tie Dye being my favorite – still is! Since that day that I first tried them, multiple locations have…

    Apple Crumb Cake

Looking for something to snack on with your coffee this weekend? This apple crumb cake is so good and perfect with that afternoon cup of coffee! When I make it I follow this recipe that I found on Pinterest. Like with most recipes, I followed the original recipe pretty closely except for a few minor changes. As always, you can click on the original recipe above for all the exact measurements and details. What I changed about the recipe was that I made the cake in a pan smaller than 9×13 so that it would be a little cakier (is that word?). I also halved the crumble, because I don’t like too…

    May 2019 Favorites

It’s the last day of May, if you can believe it. This week has been a quick one at work since I had Monday and Tuesday off, but it’s been very busy. Last night was prom and today I’ve got a hair appointment after work. Tomorrow, a wedding. The end of the school year is always extremely busy for me at work and personally! I only have a few favorites in May and coincidentally, two are beauty/skincare related and 2 are food. And not just food in general, but they’re both ice cream. Clearly, I am working on my summer bod! Let’s do the fun stuff first – the ice…

    Lemon Thyme Loaf Cake

Hello from Toronto! After my flight getting delayed Friday evening due to crew member issues I finally made it about 2.5 hours later than planned and got to my hotel at 1am!  (My other blog posts this weekend were written and scheduled ahead of time if you’re wondering why I’m just now greeting you from Canada) I’m here just for the holiday weekend to visit family and do some sightseeing since I haven’t really done sightseeing here since I was a kid. The past few times I’ve been here it’s just been to visit family and attend a wedding. So I’m taking advantage of my weekend here with some museums…

    Ice Cream Cake

Did you watch the series finale of Game of Thrones last night? I’ll go more in depth with my thoughts next week in a post after the 2 hour documentary, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the finale. And I wanted a happier ending for the Starks. But I’ll go all in to that next week sometime, which also gives anyone who’s behind in watching some time to catch up! Anyway, on to this post – specifically the title of this post. When I say ice cream cake, I really mean cake. Today I’m sharing a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream in the layers. 5 years ago (I…

    Carrot Cake

Carrot cake sometimes gets a bad rap and I don’t know why, because I think it’s delicious and underrated! I’m planning on making this carrot cake this weekend so I thought I would share some photos of a time I made it a while ago. Plus, I think it would be a great dessert for an upcoming dinners you’re having this spring such as Easter. I use Pioneer Woman’s carrot cake recipe, but I don’t make cream cheese frosting – I just use whipped cream which is what I prefer. The other change I make is that I mix white and brown sugar instead of only using white. Oh, I…

Apple Pie + Cutouts & Braided Lattice

Happy Thursday! I hope your week’s been going well. I’ve been really busy, but I’m glad it’s already Thursday. I have a quick post for you today. Continuing with my pie theme from my last food post (see my Coconut Cream Pie post), I’m sharing an apple pie today. I’ve shared an apple pie covered in leaf cutouts on here before and one with a lattice top which is why this post will be short and sweet since I’m not going to cover the whole process of making an apple pie. Just click (here) for one of my previous posts on apple pie. The apple pie I’m sharing today has…

    Coconut Cream Pie

Are you pie lover? I’m not a huge sweets/dessert person but I do like desserts. I just don’t have a huge sweet tooth so when I do eat dessert it’s not a ton of it. That being said, my favorite pie is Coconut Cream Pie. It’s so good! I don’t find it to be too sweet and I love the creaminess of it. First off, if you’re wondering what the difference is between a coconut cream pie and a coconut custard pie – I looked it up. Custard pies have the filling baked in the crust and cream pies are filled after the pie crust has baked. I have made…
