    Pizza Stockings

    December 21, 2016 /

I can’t believe Christmas is just a few days away now. It always comes and goes too quickly! Today I’m sharing a holiday themed snack or appetizer – pizza stockings! Back in the summer I saw a picture on Pinterest or somewhere else online of pizza stockings and I remember thinking “oh that’s a cute idea”. Well, that image stuck in my mind because as the holiday season approached I thought to myself that I needed to make these pizza stockings. I didn’t look up any recipes, but I’m sure you can find some out there. I just bought pizza dough, used my stocking cookie cutter, used left over tomato…

    Pizza Crust Pizza

    September 21, 2016 /

Is it possible to feel burnt out from work only 3 weeks in? This school year is shaping up to be very stressful. Counting down the days until the next holiday! In the meantime, I’ve got a new food post and video for you today. If you’ve been following me for a while, you may remember my last pizza post where I made pizza at home using naan bread. Lately, for my at-home pizzas I’ve been forgoing the naan bread and buying this pizza crust dough from Brooklyn Bred. I do pretty much the same thing as when I make the naan pizzas with essentially the same toppings. I brush on…

    Naan Pizza

    March 23, 2016 /

Naan, a flat bread hailing from South Asia, has become increasingly popular in the western world for quite some time now. Every once in a while I like to make my own pizza at home. Making pizzas at home has been something I’ve done with my family since I was in middle school probably. Over the years the kinds of pizzas I’ve made have changed. I’ve used frozen pizza dough and made whole cookie sheets of pizza. That changed to buying pizza dough from local pizza shops and making pies at home. These days, I’m into making personal sized pizzas and using naan bread is the perfect way to do this.…

    1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza

    January 14, 2016 /

Getting closer to the weekend and it’s a 3-day weekend so I definitely can’t wait! In the meantime, onto today’s food post. A few months ago, my blog buddy Tezzy from The Tezzy Files wrote about her experience and meal at 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria in Dubai. I told her about how there was a new-ish restaurant by me called 1000 Degrees Neapolitan! I hadn’t tried it, but it was on my list of places to try out. Well, I finally got to go so I thought I would share some pictures of my pizza there and write a little bit about my experience and how the pizza tasted. The restaurant is…

    Pull-Apart Pizza

    January 24, 2015 /

It snowed overnight and we got about 4 inches. Of course it would snow on a Saturday when I can’t get a snow day from work! But alas, beggars can’t be choosers. So if you’ll be spending the day in today like me, I’ve got an easy food idea for you that is perfect for next week’s Super Bowl or if you’re just in the mood for some easy, doughy, pizza! I found some different Pull-Apart Pizza recipes from Pinterest, but mostly followed this one. First, I used Pillsbury Grand Biscuits and cut the uncooked biscuits into quarters. Then, I threw them into a mixing bowl. The recipe calls for…

Thank you for all the birthday wishes yesterday! 😊✨Since it’s my birth month I thought it was a good time to do the Birthstone Book Stack Challenge that I’ve seen going around for months 📚. The birthstone for August is peridot, a green gem, which I love because green is my favorite color. So here are 4 books I have with green spines in different shades 💚.

• A Court of Mist and Fury by @therealsjmaas 💗
• People We Meet on Vacation by @emilyhenrywrites 💗
• Twisted Lies by @authoranahuang - this is a tbr for me!

I was going to say I “voiced my displeasure” but that just makes me seem even older 🤣. Anyway, how pretty is this white bow dress? 💗 A pretty dress + a book (and good food) is my kind of birthday 🥳

Crescent City: House of Sky and Breath 💙 ✨🌙. I can’t go on and on about this book without giving spoilers, but it was so good. I felt every emotion while reading and the ending?! #iykyk The ending was a mixture of excitement and also extreme anxiety for me! 😰

HOSAB picks up shortly after the events in House of Earth and Blood. The demons from book 1 have been taken care of, but of course our favorite CC characters can’t live peacefully! The events in book 1 only lead to bigger plots and the introduction of the Ophion, a rebel organization aiming to overthrow the Asteri. Hunt does not want to go near the Ophion because of his experience during the last war, but you know Bryce is going to get them involved in the chaos somehow! There are plot twists (some I did not see coming and some I had an idea of but the clues weren’t clear enough for me to say definitively!). I loved it and need to know when the next book will be out!! My review is on the blog (does contain some HOEAB spoilers) 📚💙✨🌙

The third book in the Bank Street Stories series b The third book in the Bank Street Stories series by @brooke_stjames , Diamonds are Forever, goes on a time jump to the late 80s 🕰. The main character this time is Lucy, the daughter of Abigail and Daniel from The Trouble with Crushes. After becoming a teen mom, Lucy has spent the past few years taking care of her young son, working at her family’s store, and writing a series of children’s books she hopes to publish 📚. She likes her life and hasn’t thought about dating until one day she’s relaxing by the water and a guy comes to shore in his boat and gives her a diamond ring to do whatever she wants with it! The guy, Drew, was going to propose to his girlfriend but after learning some things that causes him to want to get rid of the ring, he befriends Lucy and things proceed from there including some fake dating and a really sweet relationship between Drew and Lucy’s son, Mac 💗.

Usually, I’m not a fan of second generation romances and I wasn’t sure how I’d like going from Abigail and Daniel and Tess and Billy in the late 60s/early 70s all the way to their kids being grown. But, I really liked Lucy and Drew and immediately got drawn into the story! 💗

The paperbacks of The Trouble with Crushes and Diamonds are Forever will both be released this Tuesday! 📚

New on the blog today is my book review for The Tr New on the blog today is my book review for The Trouble with Crushes - the second book in the Bank Street Stories series by Brook St. James @brooke_stjames 📚. A few months ago I was sent the first book in the series, which I enjoyed. The Trouble with Crushes takes place a few years later in the early 1970s now and focuses on Abigail (Tess’s younger sister from book 1) and their friend Daniel, who has just returned from Vietnam. Abigail and Daniel became friends in the first book and in between the 2 books, the two maintained a friendship through letters while Daniel was in Vietnam 📫✉️ However, when the novel begins we learn that Abigail had asked Daniel to stop writing to her while she was dating someone else. Now, she regrets her behavior and wants to make things right while also navigating her feelings for him. But will Daniel forgive her? 💖

This can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the series. It’s great for fans of friends to lovers, clean romance 💕

I really enjoyed the book and getting to know more about Katie through it! More info on my blog post! 📖✨

Tropes and book recommendations based on the lette Tropes and book recommendations based on the letters in my name! I saw @savs.books share this idea last month and started thinking of what to do for each letter! I played around with the wording for a couple to make it work, but I’m counting them! 😂📚

What do you think of the tropes/books I chose?📚 Let me know if you try this challenge! 💫
