    September 27, 2019 /

When most people think of San Francisco they probably think of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, and fog. Sometimes people think about the steep hills in the city and they are seriously steep. It’s hard to capture the steepness in photos. You have to be in just the right spot for it to translate on camera. While I was looking through photos on my phone I came across a photo that I think really shows off the steep streets. The photo I’m sharing today in this #fbf, Flashback Friday, is from the morning I went to Lombard St. aka The Crookedest Street. After taking a ton of photos and waiting…

I have to start this post off with a disclaimer that this is an extremely picture heavy post. I tried to narrow it down, but there were too many good ones! And trust me, I have about 3 times more photos from each day of vacation than what actually makes it on here! On our last full day in San Francisco, we went to 3 tourist stops we didn’t get a chance to get to yet in the city. Oddly enough this was our first day of the trip that we stayed in San Francisco the whole day! When we first arrived it was already late afternoon so I don’t…

Monterey, Carmel, & 17 Mile Drive

    August 7, 2019 /

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week’s going well so far. I got back from my trip to California on Monday night, but I’ve still got some travel posts coming your way. Today, we cover my day trip to Monterey, Carmel, and the scenic 17-mile drive. On Saturday morning we went on another day trip tour with Gray Line. This time on a drive down part of the California coast. Years ago when I visited San Francisco, my family and I drove down the coast via the Pacific Coast Highway over the course of 2 days down to LA and Disneyland so we saw a lot more of the coast. On…

    Muir Woods & Sausalito

    August 6, 2019 /

Friday was a slower paced day with a day trip to Sausalito and Muir Woods. It wasn’t part of a tour, just a day trip on our own so we could go at whatever pace we wanted. Granted, we did have to follow the ferry schedule and make it to our reserved shuttle time from Sausalito to Muir Woods. Before getting on the 10am ferry to Sausalito, we walked around and got breakfast at the Ferry Building. It’s similar to Chelsea Market in New York City (but smaller) with lots of little shops and food places. Mostly artisan. They have one of those old fashioned schedule boards where the letters…

    Yosemite

    August 5, 2019 /

I’m headed home from vacation today. It went by so quickly and I’m not ready for summer to end! I still have some vacation posts to come though. A few days ago I went to Yosemite National Park for the first time. I only saw a fraction of the massive national park so I’ll definitely have to go back one day. My family and I went on a tour that left from San Francisco for a day trip to the park, which is about 3.5 hours away. We left around 7am and got back to San Francisco around 9:30pm so it was a long and tiring day, but the sights…

Angel Island, Alcatraz, and Fisherman’s Wharf

    August 4, 2019 /

On the first full day we had here in San Francisco, we had a full day of sightseeing. I’ve been to Alcatraz and Fisherman’s Wharf before when I was last here a long time ago, but had never been to Angel Island. My cousins who I’m traveling with have never been so we got tickets that included both Angel Island and Alcatraz. Before heading over to the ferry we had breakfast at the Embarcadero and walked down to the pier we were leaving from. The ferry ride over to Angel Island was around 45 minutes and there were spectacular views of the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the San…

    Traveling to San Francisco

    August 3, 2019 /

Happy Saturday! If you’ve been following me on Instagram then you know I’m on vacation in San Francisco and will be here for another couple days. I’ve only been to San Francisco one time before and that was 20 years ago so it’s been a while to say the least. I remember the steep streets and the cool weather. I remember a few of the landmark sites and attractions like Coit Tower, Lombard Street, Alcatraz, the Golden Gate Bridge etc. I’d heard from a few people over the past few months that San Francisco has changed a lot over the years and many aspects of it had gone downhill, but…

1 Last Shot by @nikkicastleromance is the 4th book 1 Last Shot by @nikkicastleromance is the 4th book in the Fight Game series 🥊 and I finally got to read it and of course, loved it!

This one focuses on Kane and Isabella who were both briefly introduced in book 3. Kane is a new fighter at the gym who is quiet, keeps to himself, and very intense 🥊. Isabella is new to Philly and starting a new chapter after an injury ended her professional ballet career 🩰.

Kane is quiet and grumpy with a dark past and Isabella is sunshine, goodness, and new to living on her own and taking care of herself. The two are total opposites, but end up being neighbors and becoming friends and more. Kane wants to help Isabella navigate life on her own and feels protective of her. Isabella wants to help Kane open up more and smile and laugh 🥹💕.

I loved this book so much 💜. Kane and Isabella were so perfect together and I loved how even though they were opposites they were just what the other needed. It was so beautiful to watch Kane learn to trust Isabella and let someone be there for him when he’s never known that in his life 💜.

Read this if you want a spicy, opposites attract, grumpy sunshine, sports romance! 📚 My full review is on the blog ✨

Things We Left Behind is the third and final book Things We Left Behind is the third and final book in the Knockemout series by @scorelucy 📚. I’ve been so excited about this one because it is about Lucian and Sloane and if you’ve read the first two books you know that the two hate each other but no one really knows why.

The novel opens with the funeral of Sloane’s father who was beloved by everyone including Lucian. It’s also learned that Sloane’s parents think of Lucian as a son so what happened to these two that were once the best of friends as teens to make them “enemies” for 20 years? 💔

The thing that happened in the past is something that neither of them has been willing to talk about or get past and as much as they supposedly hate each other they also can’t stay away from each other when they share mutual best friends and as much as they both hate to admit it, they truly still care about each other. 💕

An ongoing threat that has been present in the books since the beginning is still looming large in this book and when Sloane appears to be in the crosshairs now, it makes her and Lucian really come to terms with what they mean to each other and their past.🩷

I loved this book so much and am obsessed with Lucian and Sloane 😍🔥🥵! I absolutely love this whole series but there is something so special about Lucian and Sloane and their shared history. I’m so sad this series is over but the epilogue helped soften the blow a little. 🩷

Read this book if you like spicy small town romances with the friends to enemies to lovers and second chance romance tropes. My full review is on the blog ✨
