Velvet Burnout Floral Wrap Top
Velvet is seen as a winter material, but since this beautiful floral wrap top also has a burnout style it makes it lightweight and a thin material with sheer parts. The color combo of the green and pinks is so pretty! I wore it here with a camisole underneath, dark grey pants, and pink heels. Love this whole look! When I wore this top a few days ago I wore it with black leggings since I would just be home all day. As usual, lately! Top: Walmart (here) | Camisole: LOFT | Pants: Uniqlo | Shoes: Sam Edelman via DSW I got a size small in the top and it fits…

Restyled: Blue Velvet Pleated Skirt
When I had my photoshoot with LaurenΒ at the beginning of the month this outfit was not one of the original outfits I picked out. Just days before the photoshoot I switched out my more vibrant, hot weather outfit, for this white sleeveless top and blue velvet pleated skirt because the weather wasΒ supposed to be cool and cloudy that day. As with all my shoots with Lauren, the weather ended up being hotter and sunnier than forecasted (not complaining!). Anyway, I’ve worn this blue velvet pleated skirt on here before but that was with a long sleeve white tee so definitely more of a cool weather look. This time I styled…

Velvet Polka Dot Pants
Dress pants can get boring to wear to work. I mean, how many different variations can you wear? Plus, unless you work somewhere that allows you to dress casually or more freely, then you keep your pants pretty basic – not even straying too far in terms of color. So when you find pants that put a small twist on a classic, it’s a welcome change. These navy blue pants have an all-over black polka dot detail, which is cute in itself, but the polka dots are actually velvet! It’s such a good idea and a great way to update a classic look. Both the sweater and pants are from…

Restyled: Green Velvet
I had originally planned to wear this green velvet dress to work yesterday, but I changed my mind and wore a different velvet dress instead. I may wear this later in the week, but in any case I had taken these photos over the weekend thinking I would be wearing it to work. I first styled this dress on here two Christmases ago I believe. It is the prettiest green velvet. The dress is meant to be off the shoulder and has drapey short sleeves that bell out. I wore it last time on here with a open-knit cardigan that has gold thread running through the cream fabric. This time…

Embellished Necklace + Velvet
For a second last night I thought it was Wednesday and then I realized it was only Tuesday. I hate when that happens!Β But todayΒ is Wednesday and I’m hoping it doesn’t drag. Today I’m sharing a necklace I wore to work last week with a blue velvet top. This blue velvet top has been on the blog before. I love the rich sapphire blue color and the ruffled sleeves. Velvet is such a sumptuous, beautiful fabric for fall and winter and blue velvet is probably my favorite. I wore it to work last week with this beautiful embellished necklace. It features rosey hued pearls and crystallized links. I’m not sure…

Floral Velvet Tee
Today’s my last day of work for the school year! Hopefully the day isn’t too crazy. So for today’s blog post I’m sharing a short sleeve tee that features two things I absolutely love – florals and velvet. The colors in the florals are so so pretty. I love the color combo and on the velvet it just looks so luxe and beautiful. I wore the tee with mauve-y pink pants and block heel slides. Top: LOFT | Pants: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Shoes: Simply Vera via Kohl’s | Watch: Oliva Burton The top was a little long and boxy so I tucked one end into the belt…

Blue Velvet Plaid
I think plaid can be worn all year long, personally, but one way to make it work for sure in spring is to wear it in a sheer blouse. The plaid in this sheer bell sleeve blouse has an open back and velvet plaid stripes. It’s so simple, yet so pretty. Top: LC Lauren Conrad via Kohl’s | Pants: Gap | Shoes: Target | Watch: Anne Klein | Ring: Stella & Dot I wore a navy blue tank top underneath this blouse to keep with the blue theme. The back is open and connects at two points for a flowy look. I paired the blouse with black pants and my…

Blue Velvet Midi Skirt
This light blue velvet pleated midi skirt is so dreamy. It makes me think of Cinderella actually. I’ve been waiting for so long to wear this skirt, because I wanted it to be warm enough to wear without tights – I don’t think it’d look good with tights – and before it got too warm to wear it. The ruffled or paper bag waist and blue ribbon are the cutest details. I paired the skirt with a plain white long sleeve tee which allowed the skirt to be the star of the outfit. I also like the mix of casual and dressy. I wore light grey open-toed sandals to finish…
