Youth Express Eye Gel & Retinol Moisturizer

I have 2 products to share with you today. I love Instanatural’s Argan Oil Hair Mask so when I got the opportunity try out some other products from the brand, I jumped on the chance.

First up, the Youth Express Eye Gel. I’ve been a dark circle sufferer for quite a few years now and this eye gel is supposed to tackle a couple different things, dark circles being one of them. The gel claims to “help reverse the signs of aging and revert your skin back to its natural youthfulness. It will help you tackle dark circles, eye bags, crow’s feet, fine lines, sagginess and puffiness so you can obtain a healthy and radiant appearance.”

The bottle has a pump, which is always appreciated. The consistency and texture is definitely gel-like and true to its name.

The gel has a cooling/tingling effect under your eyes. It’s a bit tacky, which I’m not used to as I normally use creams. It doesn’t have a scent and although it has a tacky feeling it dries quickly and I’ve had no issues wearing it under my makeup.

I’ve only been using the product for a week so I haven’t noticed my dark circles diminishing, but I do feel like my under-eye area is more hydrated and if I touch it does feel moisturized even hours later. It’s definitely a nice addition to my skin-care routine.

Next up, the Retinol Moisturizer. This moisturizer is supposed to restore a healthy, youthful appearance and helps to “restore skin and diminish the appearance of sun damage and signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, hyperpigmentation, rough texture, and more.”

The texture is your standard cream texture and isn’t too thick. The instructions say to work it into your skin in circular, upward motions. I normally do rub my creams in in circular motions but the whole upward thing really made me think about it much more than I probably needed to!

The moisturizer has the slightest sunscreen scent, which is weird because it doesn’t contain any SPF so I’m not sure what it is that I smell, but in any case it’s a very faint scent and it disappears quickly. Since this moisturizer does not contain any SPF and Retinol makes skin more sensitive to sunlight I have only been using this at night. Overall it’s a really nice moisturizer and it hasn’t caused me to break out or anything. My only thing is that it’s not the most hydrating moisturizer and my skin has been pretty dry this winter so I think this is going to be better suited for me in the spring and summer.

Like I mentioned earlier, I haven’t been using either of these products for a long period of time, but my initial impression is that I like both products. The eye gel is different than what I’m used to but I love how hydrating it is. The moisturizer’s really nice, but not enough for me for the winter so I’m excited to get more use out of it when the weather warms up!  Two more great products from the brand!
