Chevron Print Dress

This past Friday evening, I went to/chaperoned an event at school. It was an awards show hosted by the senior class as a fundraiser for them. There were a few different reasons I went. 1) I go to many school events to support co-workers/friends and the kids 2) I’m the 9th grade advisor and we were selling little candy goodie bags to raise money for the 9th grade class 3) I was nominated for 2 awards by the students. So I went home after work, relaxed for a bit, got changed and made my way back to work.

The event was “Dress to Impress”. I decided to wear a dress, but I was pretty casual because the event is mainly for the students so I felt like the dress code applies more to them than me. Also, it was really cold outside and I didn’t feel like being too dressy since that would probably require me to not wear my cardigan and to wear heels with stockings or bare legs. I opted for a casual dress with mustard/gold little chevrons, a white cardigan and brown knee high boots.

The dress has a cut-out in the back, which will be really cute in the summer but not so much in the freezing temps right now. It also has pockets and dresses with pockets are always the best! Overall, I’m really happy with the way the look came together and bonus points for it being super comfortable while I was sorta working until 10PM.

Did I win an award? Well, I was nominated for 2 – one individual one and one group one. I did, in fact, win an award, but you’ll have to check back on Friday to find out which one! The newest photo challenge (in which I take part in every week, if you didn’t know) is “Reward” so I’ll be sharing my story and photo on that on Friday. Talk about fate!
