Photo Challenge: Life Imitates Art

I’m going to be honest with you – for today’s photo challenge post I really couldn’t think of anything so I took the easy way out and took a picture of a bouquet of flowers in a vase at home. I knew there would be endless amounts of art work that I could match up with my picture. The whole concept of “life imitates art” is a little redundant in my mind because I feel like art imitates life. Usually art is a depiction of something quite literal in life like a portrait or a statue. And even in abstract art, it’s usually symbolic of something in life. So to have the photo challenge be life imitating art, isn’t it really life imitating art imitating life?

Anyway, I digress, to sum it up, I took a picture of a bouquet of flowers I had that consisted primarily of peruvian lilies and then looked on Google for art work that resembled my picture. Google brought me to a painting on Pinterest which brought me to an Etsy page where prints and artwork are sold. The print I found can be found here.

So yes, I apologize for kinda taking the shortcut for today’s photo challenge post, but I think the picture still turned out pretty!
