Inspiration Roll

Ever since last spring when I had to forgo getting a sushi burrito and opt for a poké bowl (albeit still delicious) at Pokéworks I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one. My wish finally came true when I went on a recent dinner outing to Inspiration Roll. There are a few locations and I went to the Westfield location which was really cute inside. Inspiration Roll’s menu consists of appetizers and three main things: ramen, sushi burritos, and poké bowls. You can pick and choose what you want from different categories such as your choice of protein, type of rice, vegetables, etc.

Of course, I got a sushi burrito since it’s what I went there for! I chose to get white rice with seaweed (I don’t really like soy wrappers), spicy yellowfin tuna, seaweed salad, edamame, mango, tempura crunch, and red cabbage. I got ponzu sauce on the side. You can get the sauce mixed in, which I would do next time because dipping the burrito into the sauce was not that easy.

This was so good! Seriously, so delicious. The burrito didn’t look that big and I actually said to my friend that it didn’t look too big and was probably the perfect size. Don’t be fooled – this is filling! Must be all that rice. I couldn’t even finish my second half leaving about a quarter behind. It was that feeling where you’re disappointed in yourself that you can’t finish eating because you’re so full but it’s so good.

It probably didn’t help that we ordered an appetizer to share. But really, I just picked at the appetizer because I wanted to finish my burrito which didn’t happen.

We ordered the J.K. Rowling fries because the description sounded delicious and with a name like that how can you not? We were not expecting the dish to be so big though! These fries were “Japanese, Korean style french fries with pork belly, kimchi, with cheese, spicy mayo, & teriyaki sauce.” Yum!

Overall, I really enjoyed my time at Inspiration Roll and the food and service were great. I will definitely be going back and maybe next time I can finish a whole burrito!
