Sometimes receiving gifts is a great thing (well it’s pretty much always a great thing, but you know what I mean) because you’ll get something that might take you out of your comfort zone and you’ll discover new things. This copper rose peasant top is not something I’d buy for myself, but my brother gave it to me for my birthday. It’s not that I wouldn’t buy it for myself because I don’t think it looks good or anything like that. It’s more about the texture and feel of it. It’s cotton but that rough, very structured kind of cotton. I’m very particular about fabrics and textures because I don’t like rough, stiff fabrics on my skin. I like comfy, soft things! Plus the square neck of this peasant top adds to that whole structured look. But I love the color so I decided to keep it and get out of my comfort zone and I’m glad I did because once I wore this top I actually really liked it on me and it didn’t feel as stiff as I was anticipating.
Top: J.Crew Factory | Jeans: Express | Shoes: DSW | Watch: Caravelle by Bulova | Necklace: LOFT
The top ended up feeling softer on than I thought it would, but it still makes that crunch sound when you move you arms, if that makes sense. I do like the top on me though so it was nice to find something I like to wear that I wouldn’t have gotten for myself and it definitely takes me out of my comfort zone, which is always a good thing every once in a while! Plus how perfect is this copper rose color for fall?
