Smoked Salmon Spread
A student of mine was recently talking about how much she loved visiting Alaska on a vacation she went on last year and it reminded me of the trip I took to the beautiful state 2 years ago. Since I was reminiscing, I remembered I never shared a really easy and delicious snack courtesy of my trip to Alaska!
If you followed my blog back 2 years ago, then you might remember I want on a land & cruise trip around Alaska. On one of the first days there, I went on a Riverboat trip. While on the boat, they had a few snacks made out of Captain Jim’s Smoked Sockeye Salmon, one of which was this Smoked Salmon Spread or dip. It was so good and this canned smoked salmon is not available back home in New Jersey. You can order it online here, but I’m sure shipping will cost you an arm and a leg. They were selling the cans on the boat so my family bought a bunch to take home. The package included a recipe booklet. To my pleasant surprise the spread is so easy to make. Just mix the smoked sockeye salmon with cream cheese!
Mix it all together and refrigerate it. Then after it’s had time to chill, you can eat it however you want. I spread it on crackers. It’s so delicious! I’m sure most of you don’t live in Alaska and ordering this smoked sockeye salmon from Alaska is not doable with the cost, but maybe you can find something similar in your grocery store. It’s such an easy and tasty snack!
