Just Livin’ the Dream Pajamas + Life Update
I was looking at pajama sets earlier this summer when I came across this cute oversized tee + striped shorts set from Gap. I love Gap pajamas – they’re always so comfy and fit well. I loved the graphic on the tee with the colorful “Just Livin’ the Dream” matched with the light blue and white wide striped shorts. It was the perfect pajamas for me to take with me on vacation so I wore them for the whole 2 weeks I was away which happily coincided with my birthday.
Pajamas: GAP
GAP does mix and match for pajamas so I bought the tee and shorts separately, but I love how they look together as a set. The tee is still available (at the time I’m writing this) in limited sized and on sale for around $15! And the shorts are also currently still available and on sale for $20!
So my birthday was a few days ago and I didn’t feel like celebrating this weekend since I’m still tired from vacation (hello jet lag) and I’m back at work tomorrow. My cousin surprised me with a birthday dessert at dinner in Hong Kong last weekend, but that’s as far as my celebrations have gone so far. I got a few early birthday gifts before vacation from family and friends and I’m seeing my bff in a few days so I’m sure there will be some post-birthday fun to be had. But overall, I’m not that excited about my birthday. I think it’s a combination of not being a fan of getting older and also just being too tired from vacation to really care!
I do feel that these pajamas encapsulate how the year’s been (mostly) so far for me though. I went on an amazing 2 week Asian vacation, blog things are going well, I bought a townhouse. Of course, things could always be better but I can’t complain. I’m still trying to improve on the whole positive energy thing I talked about earlier this year. The idea that the energy you put out is what you receive back. I’m also trying to put in to practice that whole idea that you don’t get if you don’t ask. If you read my book reviews then you know a good handful of them this year have been from Smith Publicity. They routinely send me synopsis’ of books they are promoting and I let them know if I’m interested in receiving the book to read and review. I recently read The Innocents which I loved and so while on vacation I emailed them and told them I loved it and would really like to read the 2nd book in the series if they were also promoting it. Turns out they are and they sent it to me! That’s just a little example and reminder to myself that sometimes (or most of the time) you have to be proactive to get what you want.
If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer’s always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place. — Nora Roberts
So that’s my little life update and a look at my new pajamas I’m loving! Tomorrow I start a new school year – well sort of. I have to be there for 2 weeks doing workshops and set up before the kids come in after Labor Day. Hopefully it’s a good year and the start of some more exciting things!
