Recent Netflix Binge Shows
In the past 1-2 months I have put a decent dent in my Netflix list of things to watch. Since I’m always so curious to know what other people are watching on Netflix, I thought I’d write up a quick post of what I have watching/what I’ve been watching since late July.
First,Β Supernatural. I have watched Supernatural since the beginning and this fall the final season (season 15!) begins. Although I have been a big fan since it started 15 seasons ago I did fall behind 2 seasons ago. What had happened was I had episodes saved on my DVR to catch up on and lost the episodes and then I was moving to my (former) townhouse and just fell behind. So in July I watched all of season 13 and 14 to catch up before season 15 starts in a few weeks!
When I got back from vacation in August, I saw all the hype about season 2 ofΒ Mindhunter being released on Netflix. I had heard about the show when it first came out but never saw it. Then, I saw all these people getting excited about the new season and I saw Jonathan Groff on the Tonight Show so I decided to give it a try and I loved it! If you are a fan of serial killer type shows this is really interesting. It’s based on the real creation of the Behavioral Science Unit in the FBI and how these two FBI agents decided that they need to study the behavior of criminals and serial killers to be able to understand future killers.
Around this same time I saw that Netflix hadΒ Now & Then and it is one of my favorite movies! I loved that movie when I was young and it made me want to ride my bike everywhere. I also knew all the songs from the movie and everything! It didn’t hurt that my childhood crush, Devon Sawa, also plays a small role in the movie. I was excited that it was on Netflix so I watched it late one night and even after all these years and seeing it countless times, it still made me cry!
For years people have told me thatΒ Jane the Virgin is a really good show. Now that the show is over after 5 seasons, it is on Netflix and I decided to start the show. I’m almost done with season 1 and I love it! It’s so funny and entertaining. I do know basically what happens throughout the series, but not everything of course. I watch a few episodes at a time, but sometimes I need a break because I get so emotionally invested that I need a breather! If you don’t know what it’s about, it follows Jane, a girl in her early 20s. She made a promise to her grandmother and herself that she would stay a virgin until she gets married. Then, she is accidentally artificially inseminated!
Lastly, the other night I watched a British mini-seriesΒ Retribution. It is about childhood sweethearts that are murdered after their honeymoon. The mini-series is just 4 episodes and is a mystery of why the couple were killed and the secrets their families are keeping.
And honorable mention toΒ The Last Kingdom. I caught up on the latest season back in June! I watched it a while ago so I didn’t include it in this list since it’s supposed to be “recent” watches.
Have you been loving anything on Netflix lately?

Oh let me see… Charmed (the original not the reboot), season 3 of GLOW, Umbrella Academy (again), Mr. Iglesias (really funny), The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance & last week I binged on the first part of the new season of Terrace House that just dropped. Today I started Carnival Row over on Prime (also rewatching Leverage on there too).

I havenβt watched the Charmed reboot but I used to love the original! I saw The Dark Crystal when I was a kid on laser disc (!) but donβt remember the story and prob hardly understood it back then. I do want to rewatch it though so I can see the prequel!

I saw Dark Crystal in the theatre back when it came out in 1982. I’ve always been a huge fan of Jim Henson & this was so different from his Muppets stuff. It was weird but also beautiful. This prequel series gives a LOT of backstory to what happened before the events of the movie (takes place 50 years beforehand).
