December 2019 Favorites

Every month seems to fly by and I pretty much always say that, but I can’t believe we’re at the last day of 2019! Not just the last day of December, but the last day of the year and decade. It’s so crazy to think about. A lot has changed in the past 10 years and some things have stayed the same. The way 2019 started is really different from the way 2019 is ending. This year I moved out of my townhouse that I had bought with my brother and bought a condo of my own. Spent almost 3 months getting it renovated and just recently moved in. It’s definitely proof that a lot can change in a year.

In years past, I have highlighted some blog posts from the year that stood out to me or that I particularly loved. But that is a lot of work. If you are a regular reader here then you know I post daily so it’s a lot of blog posts to go through to find all the ones I want to highlight. So I wont’ be doing that this year, but before I get in to my December favorites I thought I’d share my Instagram Top 9.

First up for this month’s favorites is my Lindt Advent Calendar. I mentioned this last month so that anyone interested would have time to get it before December was over. The calendar was so fun and delicious. It was filled with truffles, angels, elves, and little balls of chocolate.

While I enjoyed my advent calendar, I also ate a few pieces of chocolate from my parents’ box. They bought the Champs Elysées Chocolate Box from Lindt. So pretty!

I’m sure none of us or at least a good number of us are getting enough sleep. Tula’s Brightening Eye Balm brightens the under eye area. What I really love about it is the cooling effect it gives.

If you’ve been following me on Instagram since the fall, then you’ve probably heard me rave about my new J.Crew coat. The Chateau Puffer Jacket is the best coat I’ve gotten in a while. It comes in multiple colors, but I loved this frosted lilac color. The gold hardware looks so good against the lilac, it has lots of pockets, you can cinch the waist, and it is so warm! I love that it’s warm and not bulky. You can look good, keep warm, and feel good about the coat since it is filled with eco-friendly PrimaLoft and is made with a recycled poly shell.

I took that photo in front of the tree on Division Street in Somerville, NJ. Speaking of trees, it’s going to come as no surprise that my new Christmas tree and how I decorated it are one of my ultimate favs this month.

Another favorite of mine this month are the Kendra Scot Ellie Stud Earrings in Dichroic Glass. I got these during Black Friday sales and they are gorgeous! Plus they feel lightweight on so they don’t bother my ears at all. The Ellie Stud Earrings come in a crazy amount of colors and gem options, but the Dichroic Glass is what I wanted most.

And my last favorite is an episode I watched on Netflix The Movies that Made Us. I watched the Home Alone episode and it was so interesting to learn all the behind the scenes details of the movie. Everything from casting, trying to get a studio to fund them, filming all the indoor scenes in an abandoned high school. It’s so cool and I highly recommend watching if you’re a Home Alone fan and/or interested in the behind the scenes of films.

Those are my last favorites for the year! I’ll catch you in 2020!
